If RJJ fought Moore's best middle weight and light heavyweight opponents, could Jones's cut a war path through the bunch or would he pick up some L's along the way?

If course he would, Moore faced much better competition. Ezzard would clearly win the series for example and I don't think Jones was durable enough to be as resiliant as Moore for almost 20 years of prime.

No. Moore (along with Angott and Meehan) faced the best competition of all time. Moore didn't always win, but he had much better results than Jones would've. Jones loses to Charles, Marciano, Patterson and Burley, but also is gonna pick up more losses coz of his chin.

Throw in guys like Lytell, Bivins, Yarosz and other stylistic nightmares for Jones, and you have a guy who's not going through it undefeated.

LOL RJJ against Marciano would have been fun to watch. Charles may not have had RJJ's sheer speed, but he could take a lot more punishment.

Plus, nobody knows how much of an effect RJJ's peds had on his performance. There weren't the drugs in the 40's that were available when RJJ was fighting.

It isn't possible to go through Moore's run unbeaten.

No one in history could fight that often against consistently top ranked fighters and fail to pick up a handful of losses.

    Certainly not Roy Jones.

Please do some reading as Patterson fought at light heavyweight until Marciano retired. Floyd’s name is there because he was a light heavyweight at the start of his career and a middleweight in the Olympics. See an excerpt below:

“Although Patterson fought around the light heavyweight limit for much of his early career, he and manager Cus D'Amato always had plans to fight for the Heavyweight Championship. In fact, D'Amato made these plans clear as early as 1954, when he told the press that Patterson was aiming for the heavyweight title.[5] However, after Rocky Marciano announced his retirement as World Heavyweight Champion on April 27, 1956, Patterson was ranked by The Ring magazine as the top light heavyweight contender. After Marciano's announcement, Jim Norris of the International Boxing Club stated that Patterson was one of the six fighters who would take part in an elimination tournament to crown Marciano's successor. The Ring then moved Patterson into the heavyweight rankings, at number five.”

RJJ had it all. Speed, Power, skill and he could rap. Could Ezzard Charles rap?

Curtis "Hatchetman" Sheppard would be a terror for RJJ if he landed clean
