Marciano usually only has one real criticism, he's small enough that people struggle to picture him beating SHW fighters (although he demonstrated in his career that being bigger than him wasn't enough to beat him).

But he knocked out Charles, Walcott and Moore. Neither are SHW sized fighters but all are similar in size to Jones Jr.

There is no real reasoning behind expecting Jones Jr to avoid being knocked out.

This is not John Ruiz. This is Rocky Marciano. When the Rock lands the fight is over.

Let's make it over 15 rounds.
Roy's flashy style, speed and reflexes can make Rocky look clumsy for a few rounds, but little by little and round by round, Marciano's power, stamina, workrate and relentless aggression will tell.
Roy's power won't bother Marciano too much and he'll be hitting Jones anywhere to the torso, arms, ribs, chest and be wearing him down. Roy won't be used to that. By the portion of the fight rounds 11-13 imo, Rocky's pressure and attritional punishment will likely finish Jones for the night.

This question isn't whether a prime Roy (not a geriatric Roy) can take Rocky's power shots (that will not be landing too often) but whether Marciano, the guy KD'd by two geriatrics, can take Roy's power. For all of Rock's supposed defensive wizardry, he face came out of these fights with these elderly gentlemen looking like week-old hamburger on special.

    Agreed.

Marciano won't even touch him by that point.

RJJ doesn't need to take out Marciano, he's just dance around and outpoint him all night long.

Some very big assumptions. I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you.

Nobody that gets wrecked by Tarver can take Marciano's punches and come out of it vertical.

And RJJ is not going to dance around all night and not get touched.

Exhibit A: John Ruiz, noted as an exceptionally plodding and undynamic heavyweight, managed to land 89 punches on Jones. I'm pretty damn sure that Marciano, who is faster and much more active than Ruiz, will land a heck of a lot more.

We are talking about prime vs prime here. Roy was past his best against Tarver and shading all that weight took a huge toll on his body.

What exactly is gonna prevent him from doing that ?!

And how many of those punches were power punches ?!
Plus there's no proof whatsoever that Marciano is faster than Ruiz. And Marciano won't enjoy a height and reach advantage over Roy like Ruiz did.
Roy will make Marciano look like a bufoon

How does Canelo vs Jones Jr go?

Imo Canelo is far too modern for Jones.

Canelo knocked out Kovalev when he was world champion and arguably number 1 in the division.

Boxing has moved on in the last 20/30 years and Jones will not be able to avoid the technique of a modern puncher like Canelo.

    Canelo by brutal knockout.

Virgil Hill is probably Roid's best win at 175 and above and prime Roy's (ie. Roid) CV is a barren wasteland when it comes to legit bangers, let alone having one of the hardest punchers to ever walk this earth on there like Rocky who in addition to his fearsome power also possessed an iron chin and limitless stamina. The Ezzard Charley, Archie Moore, Jersey Joseph and Joe Louis that Rocky beat would all spark Roid out cold even if he was on his enhancements.

This is a match up between one of the hardest punchers of all time and one of the worst chins of all time, which to Roid's credit he was able to keep from getting exposed as a pro far longer than he should've been able to due to his savage puncher avoiding skills. Rocky is is too relentless, too tough, and too powerful for Roid and at some point during the fight he's going to land the bomb and Roid would be out cold on his back for an aeon as soon as he does. In fact, it would very likely go down as one of the most violent bloodcurdling KOs in history.
