Vito drew with Hagler. You can't base an argument on that decision. It's one of the worst ever.

One of Alan's career best performances. Up there with the third Kevin Finnegan fight.

I reckon Kevin would have beaten Antuofermo too.

Not the same level though. Briscoe was just a little past his prime. Griffith was far past his.

I can't see any way that Antuofermo has a shout against Monzon. Even the time specific versions which give us Vito at his very best and Monzon still on the way up.
Monzon is a natural counter puncher with a computer of a fighting brain. A rangy, spiteful hitting, accurate Fighter and an expert finisher once he had created the chance.
Against this we have a very brave, hard working guy and that's really about it. Vito was a Champion and hats off to him but what does he beat Carlos with ?
Monzon stops Vito sometime after the 10th, maybe on cuts, maybe to avoid unnecessary punishment.

GGG has just 70 inches of reach - 1 inch more than Valdes. He'd be no chance against Monzon with that T-Rex shyte going on.

No,that was another bill, I remember the Bob Coolidge fight because Coolidge had his back to us when we heard a "whoomph" and he came hurtling backwards as though on wires.Sibbo had landed his left hook.
The headline next day was Sibson Ices Coolidge!

LOL, GGG is taller and longer, you can buy that 70" reach if you must, he still has an excellent jab. If Monzon had issues with Valdes he's in for vs GGG. Based on what I have seen GGG hits much harder takes a better punch, plus he has better hand speed. Monzon is not facing a shorter blown up welter weight here & he doesn't hit hard enough to get GGG's respect either.

All of Monzon's looses and draws came long before he reached his prime.

Hard to say. Monzon started boxing by 1963. By the start of 1966, Monzon had 34 fights, yet the draws kept coming after 1963 and one of them could have been a lucky draw. After 34 fights, you are no longer green.

There is a lot fat on Monzon's resume, even after he became champion.

While I'll give you he was green on some of the draws, there also needs to be some give and take that many of his best wins vs. smaller men who moved up in class that were on the decline of their careers too.
