He was 180lbs and soft... a shredded Rocky could make 175 with ease and still be at a healthy body fat Rocky was a natural small LHW.

So today he would be a SMW let’s discuss the implications.

The implication, if that's true, is he was probably the greatest LHW ever, easily the greatest SMW ever and a lock for top 10 P4P ever, with a good case for the top spot

Interesting take, how do you think he fares with Gman and Bob Foster?

Dear god, no. He used to walk around at well over 200, and trained very hard to get to 185.

175 would kill him. Close thread.

    Highly unlikely.

Perhaps he could have sweated down to 175, and still functioned effectively, and perhaps he couldn't.

210-220 he was lol laugh at these threads. How much do these people think he could lose? He felt way to weak in the 180 range.

He was soft at 180lbs what he says and what is reality are two different things he wasn’t particularly muscular either a healthy man of his height would be fine at 170lbs lean and 175lbs leanish are you going to pretend he was actually a big guy? Walk around weight means nothing he feasted a lot in his off time and gained a lot of weight and had to lose a lot which could explained the weakness.

Duran blew up to 200lbs are we pretending he was a natural cruiser?

He wasn’t big at all, was never particularly lean and muscular either I don’t see the problem.

I guess David Tua could have shed down to super middle as well. Yes he was a naturally big guy for his height with large legs. He also wasn’t “soft” at 180 lol wasn’t soft at 190. Who are you watching?

    large legs? 22 inch thighs?
He was at least 17% body fat plenty of room to cut even on his best nights drop 10ishlbs of water at 180 like today and you have yourself a SMW wouldn’t even need to be water could just afford to lose some overall fat and make the water cut easier on fight night Gman weighed more then Rocky at some stages in his career.

    I absolutely agree.

Fighters these days emaciate themselves to make weight. It's common - common - for featherweight to rehydrate 10lbs. This is what a modern weight maker looks like on the scales:

Marciano would, almost beyond hope of contradiction, have been a LHW, and I think he would have done work at SMW.

Frankly, that's crazy talk. You're not following how weight making works now? It's highly unlikely?

The most famous recent weight cut is Gleison Tibau. Shed about 20% of his bodyweight to make 155. He cut from an in shape 183 to 155.

More cut than Rocky Marciano to begin with. And he sheds thirty pounds.

People who think Marciano making LHW and SMW is somehow controversial or out there is an idea that belongs in another century. Things have changed.
