He was a hell of alot closer to his best than Pacquiao. Pacquiao has had more fights, been involved in countless more wars, and been knocked out cold, and still managed to land the most significant punches of the fight. What does that tell you? :think

I guess you weren't around before the fight happened then because most here said PBF looked like **** against Maidana 2x and looked like he had lost a step whereas people here said #48 looked great against Bradley and Chris. There was even a poll and thread about that. Of course after PBF gave #48 that work people want to make excuses when in reality PBF always beats any version of #48 because of styles.

Close fight but I like Whitaker's jab to win it.

Wouldn't be 'easy' though like some people are saying. Pac is a beast.

When has Manny Pacquiao ever lost or had trouble against a southpaw?

While this would be a close contest, and Pacquiao’s speed would give Pea some trouble, I believe that Whitaker would constantly trouble the Pac with his jab, foot and upper-body movement and begin to rack up points and build momentum as the fight moved into the later rounds. I could definitely see the Pac scoring a knock down, like he did against Thurman. Nothing serious and Pac is not knocking him out. Whitaker will go all night out-landing and outworking Pacquiao from the outside while simultaneously containing his offense.

No he wasn't which is why Pac's still fighting and pbf retired 4 years ago. Try telling that to someone else.

He didn't face stronger opposition there's no one pac fought that pbf couldn't beat and they faced alot if the same fighters. Canelo is better than anyone pac beat. Much better fighters than pbf dont lose to torrecampo a shot erik Morales get put into a coma by jmm a man pbf shut out lose to a bum in horn and get schooled h2h by pbf when they fought. Stop and listen to yourself. If pbf had Pac's resume and pac had pbfs no way in hell would you say pbf is a MUCH better fighter than pac is and you kow it. You love pac and hate pbf so you give pac more credit than he actually deserves.

This isn't a difficult call. Whitaker was better than Pac on the inside and outside, and was the best ever at neutralizing forward aggression. Manny had more power. That's his one advantage.

If a past-prime welterweight JCC won three rounds against Sweet Pea, i have no doubt that Prime Pac would win atleast six rounds

I’d lean towards Pea but wouldn’t be surprised if Manny took it. The difference between Pea and Floyd is the right hand counter of Floyds.... the right hand counter was Manny’s kryptonite...

Just because he had trouble figuring out Marquez, don't mean he can't beat Whitaker, I could say that Whitaker lost to De La Hoya and Pacquiao beat De La Hoya
