He really needs to start learning some skills before his speed slows down.

This is a much bigger fight financially than Smith or Saunders and easier to win so I can see Golden boy being interested. Junior is also interim WBA so he is pretty much mandatory for Canelo's (middle) WBA super belt. Haymon had promised Junior Charlo (WBC) though and I can't see Canelo fighting at middleweight again anyway. It's a better fight than Ryder v Canelo although I would have liked to see Ryder v Eubank at some point.

Groves walks around at 200lbs+ and hits like an absolute mule.

Young CHRIS was outweighed by over 25lbs against groves on the night, groves couldn’t put a dent in him and the young war machine ripped George’s arm clean out of his socket for good measure and took it home to use as a doorstop.

Young CHRIS went to war with Groves and retired him, you think he has any qualms about going up against a feather fisted little ginger midget who got busted up by a SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT?

it would be the timing and combination punching of Canelo that stops Eubank, not power

Eubank jr has speed, heart, chin and fitness. But that's it. He cant box.

Canelo would dominate, maybe stop jr with body shots.

I'm disappointed by Saunders missing the fight though. He must have known that his "lottery money" fight was going to happen soon as lockdown finished. After potentially losing it due to corona, then the stupid video, now not staying in shape, he doesnt deserve the shot.

I suspect, more likely, the excuse is to get his PED cycle back in order.

I would genuinely fear for Eubank in this fight, I can only see him taking an epic beat down the would require intervention from either the referee or the corner.

    https://www.boxingnews24.com/2020/07/chris-eubank-jr-im-looking-to-destroy-canelo/

Selected exerts from original article by Sean Jones:

"Canelo probably has already seen for himself that Eubank Jr is a lousy style match-up for him, so he might not dare take a fight with him. If you’ve got severe stamina problems as Canelo has, the worst type of opponent you can choose is someone with a good chin that throws nonstop shots. That’s Eubank Jr to a tee."

"The 30-year-old Eubank Jr is known for having a high punch volume, and he’s not going to back away from his opponents. He’s going to force Canelo to fight at a high pace that his stamina-plagued body can’t handle. Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs both lost to Canelo because they didn’t take the fight to him. They fought scared, and let Canelo control the pace of the battle."

"Of all the fighters in 160 and 168-pound divisions, Eubank Jr has a fighting style that is the closest to Marvin Hagler and Aaron Pryor. These were fighters that were known for their ability to attack their opponents all out, throwing a high number of shots in each round."

    .......

"Eubank Jr will force Canelo to fight at full capacity, and the Mexican star could burn out quickly, and wind up getting stopped. Chris Jr has watched Canelo’s fights and spotted his flaws with his stamina, and his need for rest breaks. He’s not going to let Canelo have those pitstops every round the way GGG, Jacobs, and Sergey Kovalev did."

"It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Eubank Jr were to destroy Canelo by working him so hard that he falls apart. Boxing is a cardio sport, and Canelo isn’t built for fast-paced fights. Golovkin could have beaten Canelo in both matches if he’d been smart and attacked him relentlessly GGG didn’t do that, though."

"Chris Jr might be ready to fight for a world title, but I doubt that Canelo is prepared to let him have a shot at his secondary WBA 168-lb strap. Eubank Jr is all wrong for Canelo, and he knows it."

Yes, heartfelt, sincere, absolute. So much so I may consider purchasing a ringside seat and throwing my own towel to save young Christopher.

The reason why golovkin, Jacob's, kovalev didnt pressure canelo is his brilliant counter punching.

You start to get a bit gun shy when you swing, miss and get hit back.

If golovkin, with all his amatuer experience, skill and power, was unable to give canelo major problems in the 2nd fight then Eubank jr, with his wild, telegraphed punches, is going to be beaten up.

If you cant see this you're either selling the fight or delusional.

Kudos to Eubank jr for throwing his hat into the ring but sorry, you're just not good enough.

This guy must be a comedian.though it's no surprise considering the source.junior being a volume puncher is a myth because in truth he's lazy and doesn't throw enough when he needs too.
