People always say how people who take the fights to Hearns beats him and Benn couldn't be more like that, yet everyone seems to forget this fact when talked in matchups against Benn. Who wins these matchups?

    Hearns.

Benn is too chinny, and once caught wouldnt be able to stand up to a furious onslaught.

Hearns had better stamina, but I think Benn was the tougher of the two. Benn MIGHT be able to take out Hearns early, but Hearns is more likely to win a decision or stop Benn after round 7 and on. I favor Benn only slightly.

Let me try a faulty reasoning on you. If Iran Barkley stopped a dangerous Hearns in 3, and Benn stopped him in 1, why would Hearns defeat Benn?

Benn needs a Barkley type moment, else he's getting sonned for as long as he can stay upright - and that gives him about 15 mins.

At 168 I like Benn. He took McClellans best and Hearns weren't nearly as durable as Gerald.

At 160... Maybe I'd lean toward Tommy.

Benn is the exact kind of fighter @ 160 I would expect to lay Hearns out cold. Not on the same skill level, nothing to lose, extremely dangerous puncher for 6 rounds. I know Hearns is streets a head in skills, but a wild Benn could definitely knock him out at middle imo

Ahh come now, stop splitting hairs!!

It doesnt work like that, Hearns for one was a bigger hitter than Benn and much more technical, something he always struggled with, and IMO lost the first fight against Thulane Malinga.

    Hearns would school him.

I know, I'm just messing. I hate it when people use that reasoning too. I do think Hearns is upsettable though. Look at how he struggled with James Kinchen. Was Kinchen better than Benn? I think this fight is a total toss-up.

He is a bit underrated. Very tough exciting guy to watch. He just underachieved a bit perhaps.

Whoever lands first. Benn could not really hold a solid punch. Anthony Logan nearly had him out when he was coming through the ranks and both Michael Watson and Eubank Sr stopped him. He was lucky against McClellan, he very nearly got knocked out early and although at the end of his career he couldn't handle Steve Collins.

I was a massive Benn fan growing up, doesn't sound like it but I really was. If Tommy establishes his jab and land his right he will stop Benn. However, if Benn lands one of his hooks it could be all over for Hearns. I think Tommy has more in his arsenal and a better delivery system so I think he would stop Benn, but only if he fights disciplined and doesn't go in hands down, trying to bomb him out.
