The Benn punches that caught Eubank and shifted his body or almost took him off his feet were sheer force, nobody hit harder than Benn (not saying he was as accurate as Julian J) in terms of sheer force. Eubank's central nervous system wasn't affected because he was punching right back with full-blooded combinations. The lack of knowledge of basic physics on this forum is frankly laughable, and downright scarey even. It's a mini little society of delusion.
Nobody ever had a chin like Chris Eubank. This is plain to see and acknowledged in British boxing. His dentist said his jaw was around twice the size of the average man's on x-ray.
Yep. But cutting a lot of weight to make 160 and taking a lot of steroids to become a HW probably has something to do with it.
Toney was 200+ pounds as a highschool football player before he was told he needed to cut to 160 to make it as a pro boxer. He was never meant to be a middle weight. It's well documented that Toney has a brain disease that has all greatly slowed the natural testosterone production in his body. He was using a ped to balance that, not to add massive amounts of muscle to become a heavyweight. That's just his natural size
He did in fact add a pretty massive amount of muscle due to PEDs, so... Look at Toney at CW against McCallum and then at the same weight against Jirov. And he would add even more muscle to that frame.
Your telling me PEDs will increase your chin? Virtually every boxer works out with neckweights yet some still have bad chins. Why is that?
Looks exactly the same to me. Just less body fat than what he carried vs jirov which was his first title shot in 4 years so it's pretty understandable he would come in better shape for jirov. Every fight after jirov he just got fatter. I'm not seeing any other difference in his body
Yeah, that's about as valid as saying you'd be less mobile if you didn't jump rope. Jumping rope still doesn't make you a mobile fighter if you aren't
The same? He was 9 lbs under the limit for McCallum. So he was 181 without cutting or draining, just being in shape. Against Jirov he was 196 of solid muscle.
You realize those fights are 5 years apart correct? If you are suggesting he looks like he has 15 pounds of additional muscle vs jirov than he did against McCallum I just simply do not agree. He looks the exact same to me. Also, don't know how you would know if Toney didn't purposely try to come in lighter against McCallum. Seems like conjecture to me. Idk. again to my eye he looks basically the same
I think Marvin Hagler, Bernard Hopkins, Mike McCallum and Carlos Monzon all had pretty damn good chins
I would second that, though Bernard's chin was relatively untested. Monzon didn't even blink when Nino landed his best punch in the first round of their second fight. McCallum was on ***** street in the first round against Jackson, but that was Jackson.
