With Stevenson moving to 130, the WBO title will become vacant. He's going to be ranked #1 by the WBO and he'll likely be fighting Conlon for the WBO title. How do you see this fight playing out? I think Navarrete is too much for Conlon and will take him out in the later rounds.
I'm surprised they didn't find a complete no hoper that was "in the wbo top ten" for Conlon to pick up an easy strap. I expect Navarrette to drown him in the deep end of the pool, way to big a step up.
At this stage, Conlon is either going to make it or not, so they may as well go all in for big fights. He won't get dramatically better than he already is and the Irish will support him anyhow.
It´s the WBO and they have a loving relationship with Top Rank. They effortlessly maneuvered Stevenson and Conlan into title shots. And just the same with Valdez, Mikey, Loma and JuanMa Lopez. Bad luck for Conlan . Very tough fight that. It looked liked Conlan would be fighting Ruben Villa or Ryan Walsh for the vacant title. He would have beat those but this is a very hard fight.
He's just called out Inoue to fight him at 122. But now he's moving up in weight to 126. What does this mean? ducking?
