Looked like $$$$ because Marciano made him look like $$$$. Give credit where credit is due.

    Exactly.
Liston made lots of people look like $$$$ too. But that’s okay...lol

Where as Marciano only beats somebody because he was $$$$....

    Doesn’t seem fair.

Louis looked like the one-hended fighter he was with glacial reflexes on wobbly pins... just as he did against Bivins.

After losing to Joe Louis, Bivins went on to beat Mike Dejohn, Coley Wallace and still looked a very decent fighter against Charley Doc Williams. Maybe you should look at what kind of fighter Joe Louis could still beat?

I have only just opened this thread so haven't seen either John's post or the one he would have been referring to but I'm going to guess that Serbian Loud Mouth has been posting. His posts give me the eyeache. The day I can go back into a pub and chew the fat over sport with someone like that will be the day I miss lockdown.

    PS. I forgot.

He was 37 years old getting by with a left jab.
"I was doing okay until my legs went" . "Marciano was just a street fighter" Louis

Didn’t he say Marciano would always beat him because he crowds? Why only cherry pick the bad quotes? Truth of the matter is Marciano dominated the fight. He wasn’t a prime marciano either. He had not yet developed his style fully. I don’t disagree by the way that Liston could win this one. I think very highly of Liston. I just don’t think Marciano is a lame duck in this one. Only guy I see crushing Marciano is Foreman. Or maybe having a hard time w a Slick guy like Byrd.

No he didnt,he said," I didnt like to be crowded". Prime Louis would have been going forward against Marciano,pro-active instead of re-active. I never cherry pick.
"I couldnt avoid his jabs I just had to take them," Marciano.
Now think about him, just having to take a prime Liston's jab?

Agreed. How could Liston ever dream to outlast the 18-29 Art Henri, who went the distance with Marciano and gave him all he could handle?

I certainly hope not but you and I may have a different sense of what the phrase 'nailed it' means, Swag.

    I don't think so!
Prime Liston jab was equal hard but very slow and predictable unlike Louis whocould use jab going backward or forward unlike Sonny and had faster jab!

Marciano did not dominate the fight. Despite a slow start, he came back to control the action with his jab, hurting the younger man at times, making him miss wildly and was ahead on the cards until he ran out of gas. Does this look like a domination to you? https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca8...0.AjdTUDzJNm53R47SLE_QJRI62Fryht8ejDKJqaVjNMs A

Lol what are you trying to prove? Any novice can watch this fight and realize Marciano controlled every bit of it.
