Maybe Tyson will fare a bit better against Foreman than Frazier did but eventually suffers a similar fate

Tyson by KO. He's way faster, more accurate and defensively superior. Foreman will swing and miss all day long.
And for those comparing Tyson with Frazier, Tyson is no idiot to go head forward into Foreman's uppercuts. Foreman will swing and Tyson will counter.

 

I can't wait to read a post by someone saying Tyson beats Prime Foreman but loses to Old Foreman.

Don’t even bother with him, he just says these things to get people going

 

Foreman was much bigger and stronger, he would be pushing mike back and mike can’t fight going backwards he just can’t , stylistically a horrible matchup for Tyson

 

I might be alone here but I struggle to envision Tyson beating many of the top guys from the 70s. Would he be able to knock out someone big and tough and unafraid of a war like Ron Lyle? Perhaps but if I had to put money on it I would not fe very confident. Tyson was a great fighter don't get me wrong but he was small and did struggle when he couldn't overwhelm his opponent with his offense

 

Yes way! Henry Cooper was better than any man Tyson beat, had top notch boxing skills and an ATG left hook. It would be like the Johannson/Patterson trilogy.

Tyson one of my favorites but Foreman

 

Very bad matchup for Tyson who cant fight backing up. He would get mauled up close and hammered by jabs at long range. Yes Tyson has hand speed and head movement, but he was no stick and move type of boxer and lacks the defensive skill to simply make foreman miss and outpoint him. Foreman was a master of controlling his opponent and forcing them to fight at his preferred range. He was also freakishly strong and a bully with a granite chin and wouldn't have a particularly hard time pushing Tyson back, parrying his shots, and manipulating his guard to set up those painful body blows and bludgeoning uppercuts. Smith and Holyfield showed how easy it was to tie up and push Tyson back.

Tyson's only chance would be to blitz Foreman and hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and hope he can score a knockdown and the ref waves it off quickly because he is not winning a war with Foreman.

Intimidation would also be a factor. Tyson got very frustrated by Ruddock and resorted to frequent low blows. He tried to break guys arms or elbow people if he couldn't get you out of there, he'd abandon his technique and try to load up for one big head shot (Thomas and Douglas fights). The truth is that boxing isn't a video game where you simply look at the fighters stats and best moments. You cant just ignore Tyson's flaws, cherry pick his best moments, and overlook the fact he rarely showed the capacity to adjust or overcome adversity. Foreman was the perfect kryptonite for any short armed aggressive fighter.
