I want Dino to reply. It 's a pound for pound thread history thread/ does Vitali fit in. Holy was never top 3, at least in the annual rankings. I have some good stuff to post on the pound for pound topic, you might like it. Or can skip this thread Luf.
I will ask you, do you think prime Holyfield loses against old/overweight Lewis or Byrd? Do you think you can answer that. By the way you were told by many posters not to refer to fights where Hoylfield was past prime as this proves absolutely nothuing for the purpose of this thread. But you will just keep on going , do you not? you must be the biggest Klitschko fanboy on this thread. as for me, I am not even a fan of holyfield
Testament to just how poor the division had become. And that fight was awful - only confirming how bad it was. Quite probably a key factor in Vitali's decision to return. Easy money.
Did Holyfield not have a bum ticker in the Moorer fight? Did he not go the full 12 rounds and dominate the rematch when he was healthy? You're a guy who has 101 different excuses for Vitali , but you won't entertain any excuses when it comes to other fighters. You won't even entertain the idea of prime vs past- prime when it comes to Holyfield. If Vitali was diagnosed with a bad heat after a fight he lost , the forum would never hear the end of it. But thats exactly what happened to Vander in Moorer I. .. But you keep using that Moorer fight to push your sad little agenda. This content is protected
Go ahead and make the argument that Vitali was prime at 39. Your link proves he was ranked outside the top 20 during his prime.
BS Alert. If Holyfield had a bad heart, he'd have to retire. You don't seriously believe the commission would let this fight happen. If there was a tragedy, boxing would be crucified. This was his manager's excuse. A possible reason would be his PED abuse built up too much muscle, and muscle demands more oxygen and energy, which is why Holyfield tired. I have no excuses for Vitali, outside of a torn shoulder injury prevented one win a cut prevented the other. He was clearly ahead in both fights. Being ahead with these injuries just shows how good he was. We all know Lewis did not take the re-match. You owe me the contract clause for the re-match on Vitlai vs .Byrd, in print, where I can read it. You are wrong soooo many times, I can't take your agenda as fact. Vitali is not superman. Anyone can be injured or cut.
You can not even answer my questions. That's weak. Do you think Vitali would be 1--1-1 vs Ruiz or 1-1 Vs Moorer? To answer yours I think the Lewis Vitali fought beats Holyfield. Holyfield just didn't match up at all vs skilled big man. Only you think Holyfield won the 2nd fight. A prime Holyfield, whenever that was, probably beats a prime Chris Byrd, but it would be closer than you think. Boy that was easy. See how easy it is to answer questions? Your turn.... Do you think Vitali would be 1--1-1 vs Ruiz or 1-1 Vs Moorer? Do you think he would be hurt and floored vs Bert Cooper? Do you think he would look that bad vs Vaughn Bean? I look forward to reading your reply.
I already wrote you a long time ago that prime Moorer decisions Vitali. You go do some research now because you do not know what you are talking about.Holyfield was past prime against Ruiz, this is out of the thread , so Im anot going to even bother replying to such a supid ass biased question. My question why do you keep referring to past prime Holyfield fights? Is your case so weak that you have to resort to these sort of tactics? Now , I am waiting for your reply on this You never responded to the points that Vitali's best wins are a washed up Peter, an old/fat Sanders and a never has been Herbie Hide. Now, please explain to me, how with such poor wins, you can argue that Vitali has a better record than Holyfield? I am waiting for your reply. And do not deflect to Evander's record again. We are discussing Vitali's wins here and nothing else.Is it possible for you to respond to this question once on the point? Your other points are completely meaningless to this thread. Holyfield beat those guys. He got into trouble against Cooper because he has a tendancy to brawl. Irrelevant for the Vitali style match up.
dinovelvet,: Vitali NEVER made the P4P list during a 20 yerar career. There's a reason for that - his opposition was low level... Holyfield was a top 3 P4P level fighter. Vitali's resume doesn't come close in terms of quality. The win over Douglas which you constantly belittle is greater than any of Vitali's wins.
This content is protected This content is protected
Ahahaha. , Moorer had a shaky chin and you know it. Which heavyweight did he beat outside of Holyfield? Exactly, Vitlali KO's Moorer pretty easily. Look at it this way Hide lasted two round, Norris, One. They were blown up cruisers. I think there was a thread / pool on it a while back, your view here is, pretty much even with you thinking that Holyfield beat Lewis in the 2nd fight. Your backpedaling out of the Ruiz 1-1-1 debacle. 1. The first fight was a bad score cards, Ruiz likely won it over Holyfield age 37. The decision was controversial as many observers and boxing reporters felt that the underdog Ruiz had done enough to win. In interviews after the fight Ruiz said "It was highway robbery without a gun,... I won the fight and he knows I won the fight...I had control of the fight. I am very surprised by the judges' decision. I don't know what fight they saw." [ Showtime commentators described the decision as "absurd" and "ridiculous". If you think Holyfield won the first Ruiz fight, I question your ability to score a fight. You can claify. 2. Ruiz beat Holyfield at age 38 scorecard judges scorecard 116 Stanley Christodoulou 110 115 Chuck Giampa 111 114 Patricia Morse Jarman 111 Second question for you, do you think Vitali at age 37 or 38 losses to Ruiz as Holyfield did? Yeah Holyfield was in serious trouble and down vs Cooper. That one happened in Holyfield's prime. Vitali blows out Cooper. For the nth time, I already told you Vitali dominated 9-10 ring magazine top 10 opponents, fought two lineal champions and quite a few alphabet champions. His record in title fights towers above Holyfield. He beat the same opposition by a more impressive margin, and his losses vs the same opposition is more impressive too as he was in the lead. The only two fight he lost he was ahead, a torn shoulder injury and cut that really wasn't not bleeding at the time of the doctor's stoppage are the reasons. That's it. No one not even Dino think Byrd would have won the re-match....well I take that back we are talking about Dino here. He can clarify that one. No re-match happened, thanks to Lewis. In 6 rounds of action, Vitali won as many rounds vs Lewis as Holyfield did in 12. Vitali did not get a chance to beat on a past his prime Tyson, thanks to Williams whom he fought in stead nor did he get a chance to fight a glassy hawed blown up light heavy in Moorer.
This content is protected This content is protected
I think you're having a mental breakdown. Vitali never made a P4P list , ever. Top 100 annual rankings is a completely different list.. And he only got high as #12 at the very end of his career , due to longevity. Where was he the year before? Your link shows exactly where he was. So i was right.. Wins against his best opponents were not enough to get him a top 20 ranking on an annual top 100 list. Holfield was a top 3 P4P level fighter in his PRIME. . . Spam that post all you want.. Your own link shot you in the foot. Last Year’s Ranking: 22
Look, I am tired arguing with your stupid biased ass points. It has been a waste time. After all, it is just your biased opinion, Here take that from the RING: https://www.ringtv.com/488242-ring-greatest-heavyweight-time/ Now you tell me who is ranked higher Holyfield or Vitali? I take the opinion of a knowledgable boxing magazine over your biased opinion any day of the week.
I know Toney fought for 11 rounds with a ruptured biceps tendon in the elbow and won the fight.Mendoza is just looking for excuses, Vitali quit in that fight
