Roldan knocked him down, did he not? Although it probably wasn't genuine. The closest to a proper knockdown was when Hearns spun him 45 degrees with a chopping right hand. Hagler was hurt for about 10 seconds then shook it off and came right back at Tommy.

Anyway, Eubank had a pretty good chin, don't think there's any disputing that. In his era he had one of the best chins, for sure.

I don’t think any of those guys were stopped except Hopkins when he was around 50 years old which shouldn’t weigh against him

Bernard was great at keeping his head off the line, bringing his shoulder up and rolling.

We know Toney took steroids as a HW. That's a fact. Did it help his chin? In all probability, yes.

For me that 15 lbs difference between the third McCallum fight and Jirov looks to be pure muscle. The same steroid muscle he took with him to HW. That's my guess, but that he did take steroids at HW is a fact.

    That’s an exaggeration.

Hagler took about a half step back when Tommy tagged him and recovered about a half second later and then plowed forward and dominated the fight. Hagler being badly hurt is a boxing chestnut that gets peddled all the time but the video footage just doesn’t show it.

That said it probably was as badly hurt as Marvin ever was (ie not much at all) as he ever was. Hagler chin was ridiculous and probably the best seen at 160.

Hagler isn’t proven against better punchers then Eubank that’s all I’m saying.

Who did Hagler war with who could punch harder then a boiled down juiced up CW with power in the form of Thompson?

You'll not believe how many times I've watched that few seconds in slow mo and freeze frame. I do believe that Hagler was stunned for a few seconds after Hearns tags him, his movement is off and he isn't throwing very much back and allows Tommy to turn him into the ropes. That is the body language of a man who is trying to recover his equilibrium He comes out of it when he comes off the ropes and throws a looping left hook that pushes Tommy back. He more than made Hearns pay for it and then some.

Don't think it really matters though does it? Every fighter, no matter how good their chin or recovery powers are, gets hurt in a fight. Hagler far less than most but he isn't a robot, he's a human being and can be hurt just like anyone else.

Yeah fair call. No one who boxed wouldn’t have been rattled at least once In their career you’d think. Haglers chin probably is the most proven at 160 and p4p has to rate up there with the very best ever. The first time I watched Hagler-Mugabi I was in awe of the flush bombs that Marvin took with seemingly little discomfort. He was one hard, hard man.

Neither got hit by prime 160 lb Hearns. Name a bigger puncher than Hearns who hit Toney and/or Eubank at 160 lbs. They had great chins but there is no evidence their chins were better than Haglers at 160 lbs.

Steroids do not help your chin. He was iron chinned at 160 and had been walking around at 200+ since he was 16 years old.

We know he had peds in his system, but much like other fighters who had been popped for trace amounts of illegal substances he claimed that he thought he was taking a non banned substance to treat an injury. Most likely bull****, but Toneys style was 100% predicated on skill so forgive me for not attributing his success to that one blemish on his resume

Eubank had a concrete chin.no middle or SM in history stops him . Plenty of fighters could out point him nobody stops him.
