    “I did give him a good run for his money. I feel a little bit cheated to be honest with you, because I felt that I wasn’t going to outbox him and I wasn’t going to out-speed him, but if I was allowed to get close I would definitely throw more punches than him.     Joe Cortez definitely helped Floyd out. Floyd even kissed him on the cheek once after a fight (not sure if it was the Hatton fight).

    Cortez was Mother Hen looking after her Chickie Floyd When he retired Kenny Bayless took over.
    Hatton was beaten before he got to the ring It was blatant

    Joe Cortez sucking Floyd's dick in the locker room of some fight was pathetic. Even Floyd looked embarrassed.

    the ref would not let hatton work inside which is his game, he kept breaking them up for no reason. It was disgraceful.

    It's always the case with A side/home fighters. Parker vs Joshua is one of the recent fights where ref broke the fighters apart to not let Parker work on the inside

    Kenny Bayless let Floyd clinch as much as he wanted in the Pacquiao fight. At one point, Floyd dove at Pacquiao's legs when no punches were even thrown. Not even a warning.

    Hatton wouldn't have won even if he were allowed to fight on the inside.

    That said, I agree that Cortez was a disgrace, particularly during his last few years of being allowed to carry on refereeing.

    It's crazy because I've heard ommentstors mention Cortez will let guys work their way out of the pocket but then doesnt when floyd and Hatton fight. John Ruiz made that same arguement when Roy took his heavyweight title. As ugly as it may be at times, clinching and working on the inside is part of the game, but it's such a grey area when it comes to officiating that refs can bend their ryles to favour one guy or another. Its hard not to notice when there is a bias for some A side fighter, like you said.

    Floyd and Pacman humiliated the overrated Hatton. He was never in their league of fighter.

    One thing that I noticed in this fight was Floyd used his right elbow a lot against Hatton. The ref. warned Floyd once after the bell rang during the mid of the fight. Floyd was good at using his elbows against his opponents.
