I usually don't like such complaints but I felt the same way as Hatton when watching the fight. Not saying he would have beaten Floyd, far from it. But Cortez made it much easier than necessary for Floyd and pretty much killed what could have been an excellent clash of styles ala Maidana vs Floyd

 

Hatton fought rough, that was his style. The fact the ref broke them when FM held is considered helping Floyd. Ward Fought rough against Kovalev. The ref allowed him to work and the ref helped him cheat. LOL

 

Funny I do not remember Hatton continually bombarding Floyd's testes the way Ward did Kovalev while ref Tony Weekes looked the other way. My suggestion was that Weekes should have a lesson on human anatomy he'd find that a man's navel is not level with his testes. That was as blatant as Golota's assault on Riddick Bowe
Yeah Hatton fought rough but Floyd's whole fight Hold, run, elbow shiver, run repeat was his forte
The biggest laugh was when Maidana tired of having Floyd's elbow shoved in his face all fight long & returned the favor Bayless had the gall to take a point. I guess only Floyd was allowed to repeatedly do that

 

Considering how much Hatton got away with throughout his career including fights against Tszyu, comments like this from Hatton just make him look like a big hypocritical sook.

LOL, Ward hitting Kov excessively low is way overblown. Guts need to stop with all that.

 

I just rewatched and yeah the ref knocked Hatton out with a check hook

 

Never would he beat Floyd.

Made £1250 by picking Floyd to KO him in the 10th round as well.

 

All this Hatton bends the rules with fouling...Mayweather holds each opponent tighter than his closest love.
Everytime he got in trouble particularly in his later career he would grab his opponent. Terrible.
Surely that is bending the rules too, such excessive holding. It also looks absolutely awful.
Compare him with a defensive technician like Whitaker or Benitez at least they didn't have to exploit this loophole in boxing rules in order to win.
