I think Trinidad is too big, athletic and hard hitting for Napoles here. I think Napoles actually succumbs to Tito's assault

Mantequilla bashes his face in for 6 rounds, cuts, then decks Tito for a stoppage in 8. Napoles was a whole class above Trinidad.

Napoles too complete. Clear-cut decision for him in this one.

You could think of Tito in this case as being the Puerto Rican Curtis Cokes....though a harder puncher than Curtis, wsn't as good a fighter as Cokes.

I think Napoles is too classy for Tito, and wouldn't be fazed or knocked off his game plan by Trinidad's power, either. Even against bigger hitters, Napoles could and regularly did stay very close, even getting right inside on them, giving them no room to get much purchase on their shots. Trinidad is the more hittable guy here by a long shot, and I see Napoles staying close, countering him whenever Tito tries to load up with his hooks and controlling the pace of the fight.

Mantequilla by clear decision, possibly even late stoppage.

Not a Tito fan at all but.... Napoles could get KO'd.
REMEMBER, the better fighter doesn't always win.

Tito would be the most physically imposing fighter Napoles ever faced outside of Monzon. Not a major difference between those two, either. Monzon was slightly taller and certainly rangier, but Tito was at least as powerful a puncher even at Middleweight. Probably more so.

Napoles may simply be too small. With same day weigh ins, he was a small Welterweight, more natural as a Lightweight or Lt. Welter. Would probably make a good run of it at Featherweight in the modern era before moving up.

Tito was a huge Welter and even made for an imposing Middleweight due to his dynamic punching power. All in the 24 hour weigh in era.

Really, if these two fought in the same era, there’s a good chance they’d be doing their things 2 original weight classes apart. This could be a matchup nobody but the Nap-tards would even take seriously.

Napoles is the favorite, but ill admit, Trinidad has a very good chance.

Napoles is the only of the Cuban Big 3 that Tito has a chance with.

He loses wide to Gavilan and Rodriguez.

As much as I admire Felix Tito Trinidad, I really believe that Jose Mantequilla Napoles has a really good chance to win this fight. Carlos Monzon who was the reigning World Middleweight Champion on Feb 9 1974 destroyed Napoles, TKO 7, but Monzon who had close to 60 knockouts could not knock Napoles off of his feet, cornerman Angelo Dundee stopped the fight not letting Jose answer the bell for round 7 in that fight held in Paris, France. Monzon did hit harder than Felix.
