Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin.

Everyone knows AJ loves guys the same or similar height to him

He struggles like a ***** against fighters who are shorter than him. For example, Ruiz Jr and Takam.

So I disagree that a Wallin win makes him look good. As people will point out that he loves big, tall fighters.

 

It has nothing to do with the height, it's about styles. Ruiz and Takam are both high volume (for HW standards) inside fighter using a lot of short hooks. AJ hasn't a great inside game (lack of head movement, stiff upper body, slow reactions) so he struggles with guys who are trying to fight him in the pocket if he can't maintain the distance using his jab to do so. The height isn't the main attribute here that should be mentioned. A big dude at 6'5'' who is a good inside fighter would probably manhandle him. Wallin isn't an inside fighter tho.

 

No it would be a PPV RIP OFF just fight Fury for ****sake !

 

Wallin should fight Brezeale type guys.

Does anyone want to go near him though given the performance he put up? high risk low reward.

 

Regardless of the style that Wallin presents, I think Fury was not threatened by him which in turn produced a lacklustre performance.

If Fury is threatened and knows he has a fight in front of him (i.e Wlad and Wilder) he raises his game.

I'd expect AJ to batter Wallin.

 

I'm certainly not convinced that Otto who gassed out about half way through the fight with Fury would beat any of the top heavys, Parker Whyte , Joshua, Ruiz, ( if he ain't fat), I think beat him handily.

If Joshua fought Wallin after Pulev (assuming he wins) then everyone would be calling AJ for not fighting Whyte, Wilder or someone else more deserving.

Which brings me to my next point, what’s Wallin done to deserve a shot at 3 belts?

Finally, and here’s the real point, Fury Vs Joshua doesn’t need any extra help, hype or gimmicks, the fight is huge without any of that.

Joshua has a decent inside game what are you on about. A lot of his stoppages have come from close range shots or they’ve lead to them.

 

Would be one of Joshua’s easiest fights in years. Wallin wouldn’t last 5 rounds.

 

Reports were that he was going to fight Kaufman next (although I still don't see it on Boxrec) and that would be a good developmental fight. After that, targeting the winner of Davtaev-Browne would be great.

Brezeale would be a good one too, although I think Washington even better.

No way should he be fighting Joshua unless he wants to fast-track himself to gatekeeper. When is Joshua going to do this anyway, with mandos against Pulev and Usyk and a megafight with Fury looming?

 

hahahaha, Joshua has a decent inside game? He has a horrendous inside game. Your reason is absolutely trash. Of course you can't knock your opponent out with a jab so obviously most of his finishes came by shots on the inside. There is a huge difference between landing a good punch on the inside or being a good inside fighter who can fight there for many rounds or a complete fight. Joshua isn't a good inside fighter. He has no head movement, slow reactions and is very stiff. Furthermore he's defensively pretty weak while throwing on the inside, that was the reason why Ruiz mauled him in the first fight. You have no idea what you're talking about boy, go back to the start and think about it.
