Louis man-handled Carnera ,he was a strong guy himself.

    Who did they both stopped?
Yeah, not really. Certainly not "clearly".
Louis was never bullied in clinches and he faced stronger men than Liston. Besides, Liston didn't use clinches to his advantages, that wasn't his style.
It is arguable, that's why it's argued in the other thread. Louis faced better competition than anyone at HW, excluding Ali.
Watch Baer figth and tell me that Louis lacked power in his jab.
And Liston didn't? Louis at least could cut off the ring well, Liston just followed his opponents.
He wasn't always flat footed - again, watch Baer fight as an example.

Hell no. There's a reason they invented the phrase "bum of the month club".
Granted, his competition was good for that era, but they'd be average at best in the peak years of the HW's (70's to 90's). A fat bum like Galento wouldn't even be a contender nowadays, let alone in the 90's or 70's.

He didn't lack power, but he didn't hit as hard as Liston either.

Didn't you read my entire post ? I said that "This doesn't favor Liston by any means, cause he was also slow, I'm just pointing out both lack in this department."

Yeah, to show how good Louis was. Top tier contenders were "bum of the month club" for him.
Yeah, cause modern boxers are too modern ;)
    But Louis was faster.

In terms of hand speed, yes, but he's also slow and flat footed

I agree that we can well calculate probably within 5 years or so how old Liston was, but we can't speak of his age definitely.

Williams was an avoided man in his prime perhaps even moreso than Liston himself, as while Liston was the man to beat at the time, Williams was seen as a high risk - low reward type guy.

You are insane if you think that Liston was 40 years old against Patterson. These conspiracy theories are ridiculous...

I don’t know where you get your information from. sonny was still working the fields of Arkansas in 1945. Sonny did not go to prison until 1950. It was in St. Louis Liston first turned to crime and led a gang of thugs who committed muggings and armed robberies. Because of the shirt he wore during robberies, the St. Louis police called Liston the "Yellow Shirt Bandit." And he was picked up in that shirt. When caught in January 1950, Liston gave his age as 20. And he looks it in the mugshot.

Good luck finding any prison records for Sonny in 1945 though.

Bottomline Sonny didn't know how old he was and picked a date at random.
