Many of the people you describe have only 2-3 good swings in them lasting about 30 secs before they gas - most of these types will go straight to Plan A hitting you with a glass, other weapon or stabbing you.
Always thought even a middle or super middle could flatten Lenny in the street especially a boxer/ brawler who can punch like a prime benn. Most boxer know how to fight and many came from the streets it’s not like they only know how to punch. If cliff fields a nothing light heavy can ko Lenny a hard hitting middle would have no problem.
Paul Sykes vs Lenny McLean Boxing - Sykes via KO Unlicensed - Sykes via KO "The Cobbles" - Sykes via execution
It’s strange that people on a boxing forum actually think Lenny McLean could stand even a punchers chance against wilder! on the cobbles, in a ring, drunk, sober it makes no odds. McLean stands zero chance! I was in the army with a middleweight who boxed amateur as a kid, maybe 200 odd fights. He used to leather people for fun no matter the size. Nobody could land a glove on him even at 4am when he was bladdered. And that includes sober doormen . As soon as he took out the first bouncer the others backed up straight away and quickly realised he was no mug. side note-this guy was mental, I’m not condoning his behaviour I used to steer well clear of him when drinking.
This. Sykes v any cockney hard man that's sold a book, the cockerills, Shaw's of this world get destroyed, McLean too, badly
I wonder if there's any other sport where someone who watches it on TV or at best takes part at a lower level, thinks they could beat the best in the world in their own environment. Does a Sunday footballer think he'd be better than Lionel Messi on a parks pitch? Does a club cricketer think he could hit vintage Michael Holding all over the village green? Of course not. So why do we even entertain this nonsense?
I must mention Paul Sykes again though, he beat a shark by punching it in the lughole. He went into a shark environment, made a few adjustments to his game (pumps around his neck) and swam in waters no man had ever swam before and defeated sharks with skills he'd honed in a Wakefield gymnasium. There'll never be another.
No reason to my post other than to say every time I scroll through the Brit Forum and see this thread I **** myself.
Love this post. Brilliant. Gotta respect someone who goes to an opponents backyard and gets the decision. Fair play that man.
