Which other heavyweights in history could have taken the shots Ali took in the Shavers fight?

No way could Frazier take those shots, li hurt Frazier badly in their second bout. Marciano was floored by a weaker shot than tese Shavers blows by Moore, Holy was knocked out by Bowe.

McCall and Rahman didn`t punch harder than Shavers.

    All special conditions for those:
    1) Look at the punishment Frazier took in FOTC. FOTC Frazier could beat Shavers any day.
    2) Marciano was floored by both Walcott and Moore (both modest punchers). However, we never got to see how good of a knockdown Marciano could survive.
    3) Holy had the heart trouble when Bowe knocked him out, and Bowe could certainly hit.
Frazier, Marciano, and Holyfield all had chins that were out of this world, and Shavers' was nowhere near as dependable. Frazier and Marciano could hit very hard themselves. Remember, prime Quarry stopped prime Shavers in 1. Anything is possible if you keep that in mind.

Anyway, just look at some of the people prime Shavers lost to, like Bob Stallings. Who's that? And you think Frazier, Marciano, and Holy can't take it. No offense, your reasoning is just faulty imo.

You have no way of knowing that for sure. And anyway, what's the relevance if they hit harder or not ?!?

Cobb was not hit by the Shavers of the Ali fight and without a slick ring floor. This Shavers, with good footing, could have rocked even Cobb.

A lot, since Shavers never really connected clean on Ali. Although Shavers could hit like a mule he had very little cleverness, so Ali seen everything coming. Throughout most of the fight Ali was either backing away from the punches or rolled with them, so he wasn’t taking the full brunt from Shavers. Shavers never came close to connecting clean on Ali like he did Holmes.

Good point. Shavers hit Ali with a lot of haymakers, not like those perfectly timed punches he dropped Lyle and Holmes with, or even Mercado for that matter. Larry was planted with Shavers dropped him. And though Lyle was backing off throughout their fight up until Shavers dropped him, his movement was much more basic than Ali's.

A fighters chin only get's worse with age, so taking those shots at that stage of his career, was a hell of an ask!

Plus Ali had become a worse fighter. He no longer had the tools to move and jab and hit Shavers with effective flurries. Ali couldn't do that anymore for more than a couple rounds at a time.

I think Holyfield, Vitali, Tyson and Foreman 2.0 absorb those shots

Maybe we should view it this way: Ron Stander took those shots. Bob Stallings took those shots. Mercado took them. Everybody took them and beat Shavers, and you guys are saying some of the greatest fighters of all time, like Frazier, Holyfield, and Marciano can't take them? Complete nonsense.

Frazier was far better than Shavers and he had great head movement, I was just saying his chin wasn`t as good as Ali`s I didn`t meanShavers would catch Frazier before being stopped himself.

I never seen Ali rocked like that and scars were found on his brain after that bout.

Lewis couldn`t take cCall or Rahman`s power flush so he wouldn`t have been able to take Shavers best shots either.
