My point is that it's understandable why you'd react that way. Off topic - I saw a film years back about teachers in Kansas campaigning to have 'intelligent design' taught in science classes. They were all obviously religious nutters and you have a group of science teachers, university professors and so on patiently explaining why evolution was real and that's what they needed to teach. But the dogmatic just couldn't get past it. One fairly old guy who had taught evolutionary biology for decades ended up just throwing his hands up and saying 'something you've got nothing left other than to say "you're a f*cking idiot."' I'm not saying Joshua is or isn't taking drugs, but some internet weirdo with no qualifications who's spent too long starring at Joshua's six pack isn't going to add to the discussion.
In other words, random people on the internet are to be dismissed as clueless weirdos, UNLESS they claim to have relevant academic qualifications ... .... then we just accept them as the authority.
Here we go again, our resident 'prepare for the end of society and the death of hundreds of millions' harbinger of doom, all because his local Aldi ran short on bog roll. The guy asked a reasonable question and, predictably, there was no answer. We can all make make bad predictions, (you're obviously aware of this yourself), but if you say something outlandish you probably need to explain why you've taken on that position.
to be fair , i sensed the frustration and the emphasis on the degree was from a good place , and i'm sure half of the posters were splitting there time between this and reddit conspiracy page whilst looking out at a flat earth drinking fluoride, i feel your pain , but in the same way you feel on that , i feel about you , highly educated but only on the right side of the line , a lot of the most intelligent tech savvy people i've worked with , are absolutely clueless in regards to the other side of the line , tech wise piracy onion links on the dark web etc which is by no fault of there own , but having said that, britain is so far behind the rest of the world in terms of doping i'm not particularly horrified by the tue"s . Even Alan wells the scottish sprinter who won the 100'm was proven by panorama a year or 2 ago to be on peds, never failed anything but the eye test .Apart from the hgh gut and crazy lean gains , for me the klitshcko fight after going down and having a masssive adrenaline dump and being gassed beyond belief , the way he recovered with the type of body shape he has i believe was a clear give away , similar to when lance broke away in a climb , despite never being a climber ... later usaf's proved he reinfused blood with crazy amounts of cells the day before , the epo taken at time blood was withdrawn and froze , it sounds absurd but it's factual
I was addressing your statements, not the argument between the other two. You pretty much dismissed someone as an "internet weirdo with no qualifications" but you're willing to go some way to recognize someone else as "genuine expert" as long as they "list their qualifications". .... on the internet.
I assume a lot of us here on these forums have been around gyms, boxing and bodybuilding, and sports training and weightlifting and have some direct knowledge of steroids and PEDs too. Also, I think a lot of mature people (ie. not fanboys with agendas) have read and seen enough by now to hold a somewhat realistic view of the level of PED use necessary in elite sports nowadays. I don't expect every knowledgeable person to share precisely the same view though.
No. I don't care if he is or not though. (although, I will say, people have been known to lie on internet) The other guy could have five Ph.Ds too, for all I know or care. It makes no difference. There wasn't a postgraduate level discussion of biology taking place, from either side. So it's of utter non-importance.
Looking back at page 1 of the thread, actually Optimus Grime came along denouncing "fat blokes with zero knowledge around sports science" ..... then someone (tdf1974) responds by saying "you obviously know nowt" .... then Optimus Grime boasts a "masters of biology" .... .... so, I'm assuming this incredible "frustration" that provoked Optimus Grime was built up from previous discussions. He came out guns blazing first post implying the OP and the rest were fat blokes with no knowledge, then got frustrated when someone implied he knew nothing. (he's since admitted some of the stuff he was "being a bit of an ass"). That's all I have to say on that. I didn't even notice it first time around. There have been much better points raised in this thread though. If nothing else, Joshua's ever-changing lean body mass provides a point of interest for his weigh-ins and fights, keep us guessing, which is probably needed in the case of something like Pulev.
Also correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he coming in heavy against Pulev last time before he pulled out?
Your not far wrong to be honest mate, i openly admit to being an ass and sent a apology to safin in pvt (for the offensive things said not my actual initial point). The frustration is to do with their being multiple threads like this before (which is fine) where people with a clear anti-matchroom/AJ agenda (which for me as some one who is unbiased is just as embarrassing as the Matchroom/AJ fanboys) state opinion and pseudo-science as fact and when challenged for evidence respond in an obnoxious way ( i know im guilty of being obnoxious too) by saying stuff like “if you dont think hes on peds your an idiot etc” without actually answering the specific points that i made or provide evidence for their beliefs.
