A fully motivated Callum Smith isca special fighter. His punch variety and placement are excellent. The way he catch and counters is outstanding as seen in knocking Groves out.
We need to wait and see what happens when he steps up to elite level - his opponents, particularly Groves, were very limited. He is more like a Ricky Burns than a Canelo mate and when he faces elite, the tree will fall from a great height.
Yeah I agree. I don't get the hate for him lately. I think a big part of the dislike is because his trainer is Joe Gallagher.
Easy to knock a win afterwards. But Groves was a quality fighter who had just beaten the likes Chris Eubank Jr, Fedor Chudinov, Martin Murray in a row, was a current world champion and was looking revitalised under Shane Mcguigan. It's a top win and Callum looked superb that night. I think the bookies had it about even going into the fight If I remember rightly.
Groves suffered a career ending injury in the Eubanks Jnr fight mate - he was finished and only took 'part' in the final for the PPV Loot.
Well show me where I was wrong so. I’m sure my posts about callum are still visible. He is too limited, too reliant on his size advantage at 168. Not mobile, doesn’tno plan B when the opposition doesnt fall over, doesnt move his head can’t adjust when things go wrong. He’ll always lose at elite level. Wrong trainer too.
Thing is, he isn't though and im a Fury fan more so than AJ His profile has skyrocketed sure but AJ is still the Golden Goose
BJS will never beat Canelo Hasn't the power to knock him out and judges would never give him a win What he can do however is go in there, make it look a clear points win to the public eye and continue to earn off that alone and earn well
i domt buy that as Groves was jabbing well in that fight. His body wasny breaking down in fight lime Hages v Bellew. If we remember how Smith won, Groves throw a nice shot, Smith brilliantly caught it and countered and badly hurt him, then finished him. That was nothing to do with Groves breaking down m8.
