"Last hope"? Who cares whether we have boxers. I don't care about athlete nationality anymore because I have nothing in common with my countrymen anymore. I'm sure I have more in common with some random euro boxer like Otto Wallin than I do with a typical American boxer like Andy Ruiz.

I do like Hunter and hope he succeeds, but his nationality means nothing to me.

Ruiz is a better fighter than him that’s why. Hunter loses to most in the top 10.

Hearn was quoted as saying they prefer a come forward Fighter for his American debut rather than a fighter with movement like Hunter

I just feel he would give AJ awkward moments during a fight and that they didnt want that in a match that they wanted to essentially introduce him to a new market

Choice backfired on them yes, but that was their line of thinking

Hunter showed me very little against an old Povetkin. He's no threat which means he'll get fights

Has anyone seen any footage of Jared Anderson's amateur fight against Vassily Levit?

I agree with your point here, because I don't really care about nationality either, or actually I do to a certain extent.
For me it's the ridiculous patriotism of some nationalities that often rub me the wrong way. So I sometimes like to stick it to a portion of the US, UK and Mexican fans when their hype, or in the US case entitlement falls apart, and/or when they show their hypocrisy towards another country's fighters.
I think this thread is pointed at the US entitlement for ruling the HW division, as they have done in the past when a large amount of current countries didn't compete.

I think he's overrated and will be found out soon enough. He was lucky that knockdown wasn't counted against the ancient Alexander Povetkin (who has never held a legitimate world title himself).

I remember James Ali Bashir bumming him up so much that he said he was superior to Tyson Fury et al. on the Bayloric TV YouTube channel with Ingram.

He was gassed after 6 rounds against Alexander Povetkin. I can't see much hope for him at 32. He could have a good win or two, but no more than "good" fringe contender sort of level.

That he does. I don't want to hype him too much, but I like what I see out of that 20 year old.

I suspect it would show Leivt who has some pound for pound type of skills edging Anderson on counters. Anderson was 19 year old , Levit, 30 years old The decision was a MD.

Yep. Levit was the rightful HW gold medalist in Rio, a competitive fight against him should tell us a lot more about Anderson's skills than any of his pro fights so far, if the footage is available.

Look how AJ dealt with a fresher Povetkin and look how Hunter dealt with him. That’ll tell you all you need to know in that matchup. Hunter isn’t some great mover because he was able to school and box circles round that Bakole. Nothing I’ve seen from him has made me think AJ would struggle against him. Would be an easy nights work for AJ.
