Rjj was a fantastic untouchable technique using talented fighter who was known for his amazing style

Hagler was a pressure boxer a tough mfer with a solid chin and and a masterful jab aka a boxer puncher tho lacking speed

If this match ever happens i would favor a draw

1.roy was fast as **** and we all know that hagler is not too good with speedy fighters aka Sugar Ray Leonard

2.hagler is the harder punching man with the stronger chin , if he catches rjj its a goodnight for roy , if this match goes on the inside roy will not be able to cope with haglers strength let alone if he could knock hagler down before hagler does

    3. On the outside roy has the upper hand , great defense , good counter punching not mentioning his speed tho hagler has the longer reach and that iconic jab , roy can easily slip it and counter it

4.can hagler knock out rjj , the answer does not depend on if roy has a good chin it depends more on his defense and head movement and we all know roy is good on that

    5. how can roy win this , Keep it on the outside , move alot and when hagler looks a little tired then roy can unleash a hell of combos , not mentioning that roy is a fantastic outside fighter with a solid jab which hagler isnt pretty big on ( speaking bout preformance on the outside) roy has speed , footwork , defense, skill to rumble with hagler for days

    6. Who is the better counter puncher ( roy ) hagler had incredible counter punching which showcased alot in his career but roy has a whole new level of countering shots proven by fights with vinny paz and toney ( respect vinny ✊)

My last call would be a draw ( the match would be roy taking hagler to the outside and shooting alot of combos his way defending most of the shots , but hagler can catch him resulting in a knock down making some trouble for roy himself and out jabbing roy )

It's a mismatch, Jones was a lean as hell 178 against Hopkins. Hagler probably entered the ring at 154 after warming up and trying to rid nervous energy.

Tbh i agree with you but roy wasn’t that lean against hopkins tbh watching his matches at 168 he looked good enough imo + i think these two would meet at mw

15 pounds of water are not enough to convince me here

I don't fancy RJJ's chin against Hagler. Jones would have to land something big early to gain Hagler's respect or he's going to have problems. Jones would basically have to execute Hearns' plan of outboxing Hagler at range. He might do it for a while, but could he do it all night? Favouring Hagler here.

I reckon Jones would pitch a shut out against Hagler. Jones could easily box the way Leonard did in the first 4 rounds for the full 12-15

People keep slating Roy's chin, but he was old and out of prime when he started getting starched.

Hagler was also a small MW. Roy went up to HW.

Part of me see's Marv slicing the hell out of Roy, then I see Roy ruining Marv due to his athletic ability.

And at LHW against a big LHW. No one picks Dick Tiger to get ko'd at 160

It is water, if you can make 160 in the weighing day and you rehydrate for the fight then it is water

Haglers jab, standard boxing skill and discipline is going to win the day.

Roy is going to be moving away trying to set traps, Hagler is going to slowing coming forward behind head movement and a steady jab. Roy will have problems with this jab because he keeps his hands down...leans back and gives ground.

Now Hagler is not a accurate puncher. He will miss a ton because Roy will be on the move, but his defense is solid and he will be slipping, ducking, blocking and partying most of Roys shots and the ones that get in will not come in combination.

I think Hagler beats Roy up and possibly knocks him out late. Roy never has a high punch out put and when his biggest weapon is nullified, which is lead left hook and his counter right..he may feel compelled under heavy pressure to fight Hagler of him and actually open up.

That is where he may have more success hitting Hagler, but he will also be getting hit with hard counters in combination and his lack of defensive discipline will see him spending way to much time on the ropes looking for opportunities and really just taking hard shots.

Same day weigh in, 160 pounds in the ring.

I pick Hagler to go seek and destroy knocking Jones out.

Jones isn't carrying more water than Hagler. Once hydrated both will be carrying aprox 60% water. Yet Hagler will be the smaller weaker man.
