Can you name amateur fights where two future professional champs met?

    Donald Curry beat Davey Moore

Bruce Curry defeated Mike McCallum (who also lost twice to Clint Jackson — although Clint didn’t become a pro champ — and, interestingly, the Body Snatcher won a decision over Bruce “The Mouse” Strauss in what has to be one of the most unusual amateur matchups in history)

Maybe when they were kids, 8 or 9 years old?

It's possible but it doesn't add up. Bowe apparently picked up the sport when he was 13, and Phillips is 4 years older than him. But Phillips was an open-class lightweight fighting out of Pensacola in the early/mid-80s when Bowe was still novice-class (and a middleweight/light-heavyweight) fighting in NY. So I just don't see how they would have ever come across each other.

Phillips was fighting in NYC in 1984. But he was open 132 in '84 and Bowe a novice 178 in '85.

On a sidenote, they actually fought twice. In 1970 Vito beat Eddie in the finals of the NY Golden Gloves Novice Division. The following year (when it counted more) Eddie beat Vito in the finals of the Open class. Don't know how Eddie did in the Nationals.

Even though April Fools' Day happened nearly four months ago, good one! Jose Feliciano! "Feliz Navidad. I want to wish you a merry Christmas..." Just in case, I searched Jose Feliciano on Boxrec. While neither was the blind singer from Puerto Rico whose Christmas song I've heard way too many times, there were two fighters listed with that name. One had one bout on his record, the other 7. Neither fought Vince Phillips.

Anthony Farnell vs Jamie Moore in both their debut junior amateur fight. I think this is Correct, sure I read it somewhere.
