There was nothing Vitali could do to make them fight him except sue, which is a reason why Lewis fought him in the first place. Lewis signed to meet Vitali though Lion Promotions and did not follow through with it. It took Kirk Johnson being injured, a threat of a legal suit, and Vitali willing to take the fight in 2 weeks notice to make the fight happen.

King was associated with Byrd after fight Dino. For several years. He matched Rhaman, Byrd, Golota, and Ruiz vs each other. He looked like he was formidable vs Rhaman 2, which might be his best KO and vs. Mike Tyson. These fights were pretty close to Klitschko vs Lewis. I saw no drop off from his performance in ANY fight before he meet Vitali. Can you provide an example of one? Can you provide any example of Lewis being shot by the words of a reporter before he fights Klitschko?

I don't think Vitali was at his best either, he became a better fighter after this match.
