Wilder was WBC Champion and showed no desire to unify, in retrospect we can now look back at Wilders reign and see he hasn’t faced any other World Champion nor any credible opponent. On the balance of what we know I’m comfortable with my assessment that Wilder never wanted anything to do with Wlad just as he later wanted nothing to do with Martin, Parker, or Joshua. Beyond that we can also see that he never stepped in the ring with any credible opponents until Fury 2 which he was contractually locked into after losing, ahem, sorry drawing the first fight. You can hang onto whatever you believe is true, using whatever evidence you have that Wilder would have fought anybody. His record speaks for itself though!
you really put alot into dancing around a simple question. What evidence do you have that Wlad wanted anything to do with Wilder while he was champion? It's a very straight forward question.
Wlad clowned Wilder in sparring so for him Wilder would be an easy title grab. Klitschko knew Wilder was a fraud.
More non answers to a very direct and simple question. I'm not even really taking a position in just asking for facts
Wilder was probably always willing to fight anyone, but his management were aware of his limitations and so kept him away from top heavyweights like Wlad and Joshua, and risky prime opponents like Whyte.
Which I’ve answered! I didn’t realise the burden of proof in a fans forum was the same as that in a court of law. If that’s what you’re looking for then you’re going to be disappointed more often than not! As I said, I have Wilders truly awful resume, I have his record of defences as WBC Champion to look back on and both tell me unequivocally that Wilder has never shared a ring in anger with a quality opponent until Fury 2 which he was contractually locked into. So I’ll state again, on the balance of that evidence, IMO Wilder ducked Klitschko and never wanted any part of him.
Did this thread get bumped from 2015? Wilder is fighting the current world heavyweight champion (and the man who vanquished Wlad) for the third time this fall. No one else has taken on the current best fighter in the whole sport three times, but Wilder will later this year. 2015 was a long time ago.
Attention all, please note that The Clan (and apparently George, who liked this post) have determined that Tyson Fury is neither a world champion nor a credible opponent ... and, apparently, Luis Ortiz is not a credible opponent, either. Somebody notify Ring. Their current world champ and two of their top four heavyweight challengers - Fury, Wilder and Ortiz - have been deemed bums. (LOL).
You aren't answering the question in the slightest. Court of law? LMFAO dude all you have to do is state why you feel wlad wanted Wilder. This is not rocket science. You are the one making this complicated
Wilder was never known for any desire to unify. He could have unifed vs. Wlad, AJ or Parker. He ducked all of them.
Joseph Parker? (LOL) Wilder has shown the desire to fight the #1 fighter in the sport and the undefeated world champion three times. Meanwhile, Joseph Parker's last fight was against Shawndell Winters. Joseph Parker. LOL.
No, you’re the one making this difficult. You want me to show Wlad wanting the fight, maybe he made an approach maybe he didn’t, neither of us know either way. I can’t prove he did and you can’t prove he didn’t! What we have got is Wilders history of never wanting to fight anyone with a pulse! That much is factual, we have his record. Never fought Wlad, never fought Parker, never fought Martin, never fought Joshua, avoided his Nō1 contender for almost 3 years and has even avoided anyone from inside the top 20 who wasn’t at the wrong end of his 30s maybe even early 40s with a medical condition. Now you can believe what you like about the likelihood that Wilder dodged Wlad but I’m happy and content in my opinion that he did.
You said bums not me. Fury and Ortiz were cherry picks, Ortiz’s age is debatable but his medical condition and that he fought the first fight against his Doctors advice isn’t and yet Wilder still needed a highly controversial intervention from the Referee and ringside Doctor to help him out. Fury 1 was an attempt to put a still recognised name on an awful resume but Tyson didn’t play along, giving Deontay a boxing masterclass for at least 9 of the 12 rounds! After being gifted an embarrassing draw verdict Wilder had nowhere to go but a rematch and we know what happened against a better prepared Fury. But OH dear! Selective quoting Here’s the full post, note the underlined bit: Having said that, Wilder as Champion STILL hasn’t ever faced another World Champion!
