You're minimising a win over a Top 5 Ring rated contender. He earned that beating legit contenders like Maskeav and Donald. His DQ against John Ruiz was controversial because Ruiz kept feigning low blows when they were borderline.

Sure he showed up heavy. Fighters sometimes use that as a tactic to push a bigger opponent back. Weight helps in boxing, try boxing a really fat 300lb bloke. He can easily push you back just by walking forward and pushing you. It's notable in his fights after this that weren't competitive Johnson was lighter.

But either way, if Johnson didn't train for the biggest fight in his life and trained for others, does this make any logical sense? The only way it would make logical sense would be if Kirk Johnson saw no way he could beat Vitali. That speaks volumes about how pro boxers saw Vitali in this period.

The same with Lennox Lewis. Lennox had planned PPV a lucrative rematch with Tyson and a PPV fight with Jones Jr. Why didn't it happen? Because Lennox realised he'd be seen as a punk if he ducked the Vitali rematch. So Vitali retired Lennox Lewis because Lewis would rather retire than give Vitali a rematch. Sure Lennox won fair and square on a cut. But he didn't fancy his chances to do it again

He lasted 2 rounds. Could not take Vitlai's power or aggressiveness. - Mendoza

^^^ Just admit a mix up, you know who I was talking about. No one else stopped Johnson in 2 rounds.

PS: If you want to answer my 10 questions, I'll give you a 2nd chance.

Cooper was Ko'd multiple times, like 16. He would not beat Kirk Johnson.

Vitali vs. Bert Cooper? That would be an unacceptable title defense ( Unranked with a history of losing ) , and he sure as heck would not have any trouble with Cooper, let alone be floored by him as Holyfield was.

8-9 Ring Magazine ranked opponents, a former lineal champion, plus former Alphabet world title holder does not equal poor opposition. :ibutt

With a bad cut, Vitali was 4-2 on all cars against Lewis, what that poor opposition too? Lewis had a chance for a re-match with 18 million dollars in it for him. He :bump ran.

That's how bad the division had become.

I don't need to minimize it. Johnson's conditioning was as described and the fight actually happened as I summarized it. Tell me where facts I am using are wrong and, in turn, why my opinions based on those facts are wrong.

Johnson was losing that fight, anyway.

More than 2 stone heavier than usual...

In Johnson's case it is more likely an indicator of him not having trained properly and it's really not helping, if you're gassed after the first round.

There's a myriad of reasons why Johnson didn't train himself down to his best fighting weight. They don't all have to be for reasons that make Vitali look good, though.

You do not know your history. Study up.

Good question? His supporters will argue with fights he actually lost

Dude, you made a mistake. We were talking about Vitali vs. Johnson. You're busted. For your sake, I hope you are not a judge or work with law enforcement. Fair and balanced you are not, and in this case, add honesty to that list. Disappointing as you can be a good poster.

You can answer my 10 questions if you care. You certainly seem active enough in this thread, so why not?

Not likely. Johnson was one for those large guys with fast hands and power.
