Just curious, do you think it was proven that Fury cheated with PEDS, or no?

I am going to ask one thing for this thread: let's keep it civil. I am just trying to determine the consensus.

I said at the time that based on the facts of the case, not only is Fury innocent, but someone from UKAD should be arrested either way. To me, time has only borne me out. They reported to him elevated levels of a substance naturally produced by the body, sat on it for 16 months without acting or informing him that he was being investigated, let a world title match take place, sprung it on him that he was under investigation, asked for a four year ban, were sued, admitted in their own brief that they botched the investigation while "standing by their findings," backed off, agreed to a "time served" suspension that was actually for his admitted subsequent cocaine use, and claimed that they were having the results of the Hammer fight reversed when it was never done. They also admitted that they were settling because they were in danger of going bankrupt, which indicates to me that if Fury cared about revenge over his career, he would have won.

All of this is available on line and is 100% true. In all fairness, I have not found any documentation that they suggested that the elevated levels could have been due to diet or contaminated supplement. Not saying that it is not there, just that I have not found it.

My mind is made up. I am not saying that Fury has never done PEDS, or that he wouldn't do them. I am just saying that to me, it was 100% NOT proven, extremely shady, and whether he was or wasn't, someone from UKAD should be arrested, either for fraud or criminal negligence. The matter was never adjudicated by a third party.

So I am curious. What do you'all think? For purposes of the poll, only "yes" or "no." If your mind is not made up, kindly state so and refrain from voting.

    Thanks.

If it was proven then you wouldn't have to ask the question.

I personally think it *likely* that he was guilty.

Certain that he as guilty? No.

Likely *beyond a reasonable doubt* that he was guilty? Again, no.

I generally support Tyson Fury and lean towards him not taking PEDs, but I don't rule out that he did. I tend to believe him in this case because I have never seen such suspect behaviour from a testing agency and the fact he was under attack from the entire establishment at the time is another rare circumstance.

The other thing is that he is uncommonly honest about his drug/alcohol problems, being a fck-up, so the fact he dug his heels in on the drug issue does suggest he does take some kind of pride in not using PEDs. He could have admitted the PED use for getting weight off etc. before Hammer and still kept his HW win over Wlad because he didn't fail anything in that lead up.

But I have to say I think Peter is dodgy as hell, and so did the drug unit of the police, apparently. Even if Tyson/Hughie didn't try to cheat, there is another possibility there, that they unknowingly consumed these substances. You never know, that might even have something to do with the Tyson/Peter personal split, which seems very severe for the reasons given (Haye dealings, arguments in training camp etc.).

As I said, I don't rule out Tyson did knowingly consume the PEDs. It wouldn't be a remarkable surprise if he ever admitted that, but I would be a little surprised.

Nice summary here of the facts. UKAD themselves advised the Fury's that it was probably contaminated supplements and said they would not be taking further action, I think to then bring retrospective charges almost 4 years later is a scandal. Almost certainly Tyson would have won the case if he carried on but the legal process would take years and his main motivation at the time was to get back his BBBoC boxing licence. There were also leaks to the press from within UKAD which totally wrecked the case. Tyson was not liked around the time he beat Klitschko and was ruining the image of British boxing, I would not put it past someone in the establishment wanting him out of the way for good.

By UKAD's own report he pissed clean a number of times between Hammer and Klitschko. At least they were honest about that.

It is actually another thing Tyson points to: He was clean for Klitschko and Wilder but he needed PEDS to beat Christian Hammer?

As the legal representative for Mr.Tyson Luke Fury I would like the take a moment to summarize a number of details with my clients case

The presumption of innocence is the legal principle that one is considered innocent until proven guilty.

Tyson and Hughie both had an "adverse finding" in February 2015

UKAD didn't not take litigation for this at this time (How very odd you might say)

Tyson & Hughie passed all of their subsequent tests during that year (Tyson himself 8+ tests?)

Then how wierd is it that the moment Fury got injured for his Wlad rematch UKAD decided all of a sudden that they'd take legal action against him? This is in 2016 nearly 1.5 years later.

Fury was raging when this happened that when UKAD came to test him in late 2016 after they announced they were taking legal action against him he told the testers to F off and suck his 400 pound d*ck, which is understandable.

Just shows the shadiness of boxing like Floyd with his IV bags.

It couldn't be proven in court beyond reasonable doubt that he had taken PEDS and he almost bankrupted UKAD with the boar meat excuse. They settled with a backdated ban.

Why would Fury take nandrolone 1 fight away from his Wlad opportunity? Why didn't UKAD flag it straight away? Is nandrolone naturally occurring in the body? yes.

The only thing that everyone must be wary of is CLEARLY boxers with political and monetary influence can escape drug failures or not ever have these failures come open to the public.

If Dillian Whyte was your average Miller off the street he would have served a 2 year ban 100%.

Something everyone should also note is when you fail for nandrolone it's not your typical "ooo he's slightly over the limit", nandrolone failures are typically 10 to 100 FOLD over the set limit of 2 nanograms.

An A & B sample failure for nandrolone should be cut and shut.

Personally (and I might be joking here) I think Fury's caveman body is producing unnaturally high levels of nandrolone.

I'm of the opinion that every high level athlete is taking stuff.
That said, if you were to rank all pro PED cheats in a order of "obviously" to "not so obviously", I'd put Tyson in the "not so obviously" side. Basically, I'm willing to believe he's not a cheat based on the eyeball test. I know you can be full of PEDs and still a fat tub of goo (Hi James Toney!) but there leaves some room for doubt, unlike those guys that walk around big and dry and lean with paper thin skin 24/7/365. Guys who gain weight in camp despite being highly trained and conditioned already (Hi Wlad!, Hi AJ!, Hi Holyfield!, Hi Briggs! Hi Canelo!)

The only reason they settled was because Fury's high priced legal team threatened to sue for all the earnings a heavyweight champ could potentially earn. The UK treasury, trying to deal with the empty coffers after the bank failures told UKAD that they weren't going to bankroll it and given the amount was more than their budget times a big number and their case was weakened by procedural failures they decided to leave it with the uneasy compromise.

Well, no. As stated, they admitted to botching the case. They had no plausible reason to explain why they sat on potentially important findings for 16 months while a title fight took place, and admitted as much.

This is a fact and can be googled fairly easily.

    but thanks for the contribution.

Peter Fury comes across as a nice cuddly guy who has a mild temprement and nice fluffy beard but that guy was a legit drug lord of Manchester back in the day.
