No. In all honesty we can’t know until he faces an elite heavyweight. Too many unknown variables. Witherspoon was thirty seven and had losses against the only two decent fighters he’d faced in Arreola and Thompson.
He's pretty much an unknown quantity at heavyweight. Would be giving up physical advantages, but he's a class act as a boxer. So yes, he's most definitely a threat to anyone he faces.
My concern for Usyk's heavyweight run is that a lot of his defense that isn't his feet is based on blocking shots. He certainly has good head movement, but he prefers to block shots which will not be that effective against guys so much bigger than him. He's certainly faster and more skilled than someone like Joshua, and I think he has a legitimate shot at beating him, but you'd have to make Joshua the favorite.
As much a threat as anyone... Eddie is on crack cocaine not to jump to make Fury AJ next year whilst AJ has some reputation & marketability left. WBC need to play some BS to allow Fury to skip Whyte & Usyk needs to stay on the bench for now. Fury AJ Summer 2021 should be guaranteed. This virus should have cemented it.
A very big threat. Hearn knows it which is why he wanted at least a foot in Usyk’s house. Usyk’s volume, endurance, skill and no fear mentality will stop Joshua late.
I think Uysk's sublime footwork is the biggest issue AJ has to overcome if they fight If he cant get a strong hold on the fight then Uysk really troubles him
That’s nice but he also has to land it first and Usyk has a good chin. And Usyk’s left hand isn’t too shabby itself. Joshua doesn’t have the chin to just walk through it. Lol
ESPECIALLY if it’s actually equal PED testing for BOTH sides Then Usyk will get rid of Joshua in brutal fashion.
You really think usyk can stop joshua?? I think its possible if usyk uses his full volume and pressure come forward .but i think usyk will fight joshua defensively
I'm not as high on Usyk as most people and I feel like he definitely needs to prove himself at heavyweight first -- I think cruiser sucks. However, stylistically, I think Usyk is bad news for AJ -- I think Usyk could outbox AJ just like Povetkin was doing.
