I don't really think a wrong is committed though. I had that a draw, but there were enough close rounds where you could justify a one or two point win either way. (THREE points is a bit much, though).
The British Super Welterweight division is brilliant. You don't even have to go past British title level for there to be a plethora of great fights. Plus most of them have a European level ceiling at best.
Why the hell are they separated by 5 feet, after they stood face to face and spit on each other for an hour?
Had this a draw, but no probs with Cheeseman winning as plenty of close rounds but I really don't like Sky pushing that 'he needs a bit of luck' stuff, like that should factor in somehow. Each fight is independant and shouldn't have any bearing on another, yet throughout the build up, and in-fight it seemed to be a focus and you can't help but think that may factor into the judges desicions on super close rounds and I just got the feeling Eggington would have to win 8 rounds to get a draw. Great scrap either way though.
What a fight...thought Cheeseman probably won the first 5 rounds, think I had it 7-5 to Ted and would have even been fine with 8-4. Still, Eggington deserves credit. He’s always game. Once again, Cheeseman starts strong, uses quality footwork and angles and then like the Fitzgerald fight, he slows right down, plants his feet and ends up in a proper tear up. Not sure if it’s a lack of discipline or a lack of a gas tank with him.
They always have to have an angle. Like how they were pushing Eggington as having started out as the away fighter when he only ever had a couple of fights out of his own backyard. I agree that it might look as though it was influencing a judge but that's Sky for you. When they put a card like tonight on, I'm not complaining how they treat the boxers.
I agree with your gift sentiment but have to ask, which previous robbery do you speak off? Hope not the Fitz fight when Ted lost his way in the second half of the fight off the back foot
I scored that one fairly wide for Ted, I thought he nicked the vast majority of the rounds and only truly fell apart in the last 3 rounds.
Been staring into oblivion bored procrastinating for the past 2 hours and just realized this fight card is happening i'm an idiot
Allen has been in full training for ages, so i would not rule out seeing him v Wardley in week 4 of fight camp.
I cannot believe a coach has not taught Gavin Gywnne to punch correctly. No wonder he is a non puncher, he only generates power from the arm, he doesnt use his legs or his shoulders to generate power.
I rather hope not as Wardley is all wrong for the flat footed, relatively one dimensional Allen and I could see Wardley lighting Allen up from quite early on unless he comes in in the best shape and focus possible.
One good thing about these cards is that there doesn't seem as many mismatches. Maybe less fights = more quality. Without a live audience to keep occupied there's no need for floaters; I'd certainly rather see something like the Johnny Nelson film from last night than a novice hammering a Latvian taxi driver inside two rounds.
