Um, you do realize Joshua fought the Ruiz rematch the exact same way Fury fought Wilder 1? Doing the bare minimum to edge the rounds.
I don't see why not? I haven't drank the Tyson Fury ATG koolaid. Yes, Fury has some real quality but I'm still not sure which Fury is the real one yet. The one that befuddled Wlad and bullied Wilder or the one that had the hard struggle againt Wallin. Fury, unfortunately, has had too few fights and too many periods of inactivity for me to get a real sense of him. I can see him handily outpointing Joshua or being stopped by Joshua. I just don't know what will happen.
Everyone can be beat on any given day. You are carrying injuries, you have a bad camp, you are suffering from personal issues or you are mentally not invested. Fury is the favourite as the superior boxer with the better punch resistance. AJ has chances to win this too. Even if both guys are close to being at their best - this is a fight that could go either way. I side with Fury though to win it.
Uh, you do realize that is my point? Uh, you do realize that Fury fought in that style for years and does it much, much better, from either stance?
I think they'll both turn up with the ideal gameplan to beat the other, and it should be very competitive at first. IMO Fury's ace card is his ability to figure out an opponents gameplan, (he knows how to adapt mid fight, plan B, C etc, unlike Joshua) then he'll likely pull ahead.
I think for AJ to stand any chance he has to have an agreed plan B in his arsenal should his corner say it needed, we see so many fighters going into bouts with a plan, that plan not working but having nothing else to use. If AJ had not lost loss to Ruiz, then any chance he might now have against Fury however slim would have been zero, as the loss made AJ change training/fight approach.
He has a great chance,by far the best chance in the division Fury is favourite and considering the public judge people on their last fights, rightly so by its not by a great deal
I prefer Fury stylistically to AJ. I think Fury has all the tools to annoy, frustrate and befuddle AJ. That said AJ is a pretty sound boxer with some good combinations and undeniable power. I think he's better than Wilder by some way. A guy like AJ has a chance against anybody.
Like he schooled Wladimir and Wilder twice Against Wallin he fought unmotivated and was not focused, nor was he physically as against wilder 2. A motivated fury easily beats Joshua, similar to the fight with Klitschko. In my opinion fury can have problems against aggressive and fast fighters
Punchers chance Fury raises his game when he fights good guys Look how easily he handled chisora in their rematch? Everyone says he was washed up, yet he beat Whyte (imo) first time round and pushed him second time round The wlad fight was a stinker, but fury made him gunshy and beat him away from home when no one gave him a shot Beats Wilder despite only coming back from severe obesity, got robbed Everyone says he will lose rematch Killed Wilder AJ will NOT beat Fury
