I like to base my opinions off of what is factually known. I don't have the time to fantasize about what another man might or might not be thinking so I just wanted to know what information you had. Nothing more

OK, I might have misspoken on the 10 defense part. 4 of those were against top 10 guys. Which sounds a lot better than it is.
The other 6? Those were complete cherry picks. Well, somehow Stiverne 2 was a mandatory. So there is that I guess.

But this still doesn´t excuse Wilder´s resume. In his entire pro career, he has only fought 3 top 10 ranked guys.
And screw the WBC rankings, those mean little as they can easily be bought.

Wilder got an easy route to the WBC belt and he took the belt. Good for him. He stepped up and got the job done. But then it took him 3 ****ing years to fight another top 10 opponent(Ortiz).
But you are acting as if those 3 years mean nothing as "hey! Wilder fought Fury twice!"

His resume is paper thin for someone who held a world title.

Yeah and so did Povetkin for a while. Fury took on Wlad at 26 years old, yet people have been pretending he's a ducker.

Did Wilder duck Wlad? Let's say Wilder and his team avoided Wlad and it was good management imo.

You can't fight anyone better than the best fighter in the whole sport.

Wilder has fought the best fighter in the whole sport twice. And he's fighting him a third time this fall.

Complaining that he didn't fight the fifth or sixth best heavyweight at this point is just looking for faults.

After 40 pro bouts and being a champ for close to 5 years.
You dont see a problem here? Wilder fought only 3 top 10 guys in his entire career.
But it doesnt matter because he fought Fury?

Wilders team definitely wanted nothing to do with him.

All the top heavyweights have only had a handful of fights against guys rated by Ring when the fights took place. Wilder is no different.

I believe Fury has had three fights against guys rated by Ring when he faced them. Parker has had three. Whyte has had three. Ruiz has had three. Joshua has had four. Wilder has had five.

Whyte wasn't ranked by Ring when Joshua fought him. Neither was Ruiz for their first fight. Neither was Martin. Neither was Takam or Molina. Pulev, who he's fighting next, isn't.

They all usually fight guys rated by sanctioning orgs, instead.

I don't know why you are so insistent on running down Wilder. It's not like the other top heavyweights have all had a dozen or more fights against Ring-rated comp, and Wilder hasn't.

Will it make you feel better when, this fall, Wilder has SIX fights against Ring rated heavyweights - three of them being against the undefeated World champ?

Then he will STILL have more than everyone else, and nearly twice as many fights against Ring rated guys than most of the others. Will that calm you down!

 Look at you trying to bend the stats.
When Joshua won the IBF belt, he beat Martin who was on the same level as Stiverne(both suck tbh)
So neither Wilder not Joshua had beaten any top 10 guys before they won a belt, which sucks.
But a year after winning the IBF belt, Joshua beat Wlad.
A year after that he beat Parker.
    Then Povetkin.
Next up was the Ruiz rematch and lookie, lookie! Pulev is currently ranked 10 by the Ring.
So Joshua, in his first 4 years as a champ, has beaten 4 Ring ranked contenders and is about to fight his 5th.
But it took Wilder 3 years to fight his first
And then he fought his 3rd guy in Fury, who had just come out of retirement.

And in the last five years, Wilder has fought five and is about to have his SIXTH fight with a Ring Ranked guy.

Stivene was ranked highly by Ring when Wilder won the title. Ortiz was ranked highly in the top 10 by Ring both times they fought. Tyson Fury was ranked highly by Ring both times they fought. And Tyson Fury (the World Champ and Wilder's next opponent) is ranked 10 spots higher than Pulev (Joshua's next opponent) when they get back in the ring. (Oscar must be trying to do Hearn a favor slipping Pulev into the Ring top 10 during COVID, a half a year after fighting Rydell Booker - Jesus, LOL).

Again, none of the other champs or contenders have had more fights against Ring-rated opponents than Wilder ... as you just pointed out with Joshua.

And Wilder is fighting the best fighter in the WHOLE SPORT for the third time this fall.

This isn't a case where everyone else has had 10 or 20 fights against Ring-rated opponents, and Wilder doesn't. Wilder has more than all of them.

If six fights against Ring opponents is bad, then everyone else is bad, too.

    You are ranting about nothing.

My point ian't that he fought against top ranked opponents six times.
It's that only 3 of his opponebts ever were ranked in the top 10.
And it took him nearly 5 years as the champ to fight the nr1 guy in his division :lily:

Joshua has never fought the best guy in the division (LOL). And he certainly won't be against Pulev.

And Ali fought Joe Frazier and Ken Norton a combined SIX TIMES. OR do you only count those as two fights? Or do you just do that to Wilder?

Jesus. If you fight THE best heavyweight on the planet THREE TIMES, that's better than fighting three fringe contenders once. Fighting the WORLD champ next is better than fighting a fringe guy next who just slipped in the #10 spot during COVID.

Do you get that? Apparently not.

You can't do better than fighting THE BEST fighter in the WHOLE sport. Wilder is doing that for the THIRD time this fall.

If you're still bitching about who Willder "didn't" fight five years ago, then you are complaining just to complain.

Except after Wilder won his belt his advisors said they would not put Wilder in with Wlad because "wilder was still a baby"

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs) is still very much a work in progress, says his co-manager Shelly Finkel. After last Saturday's world title win over Bermane Stiverne, the hype began growing for a fight between Wilder and WBO/WBA/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Finkel, who manages Wilder with Al Haymon and Jay Deas.

He says there is no need to rush Wilder into big fights against the best of the division; that despite a world title he still needs time to grow and groom his skills.

“Look, (Wilder) is a baby winning the title. It was his first title fight, they'll be a time for unification, they'll be a time for all those things, he could go and Povetkin (the No. 2 contender) in Russia and make $10 million,” Finkel said to the Tuscaloosa News. “It's not the right thing yet. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama. Let him develop just like any other athlete. They don't take someone who is a great college prospect and throw him right in. And this kid is a great prospect.”

All I'm asking is what evidence is there that wlad wanted anything to do with Wilder. That really can be answered without mentioning what Wilder may or may not have been thinking at the time. No one wants to answer this your like the 5th person to chime in with more info that is irrelevant to the question I'm asking

how is it irrelivant it is literally a duck by saying he would need years and some fights in Alabama before he would even consider fighting Klitschko when asked about unification and Wladamir was 39 at the time. pretty damn easy to see who never wanted the fight.

Wlad was on record stating he wanted to Unify while Wilder has never fought or tried to Unify during his whole career.

if you say it will be years before you are ready to fight someone who is already 39 and you are already have 32 fights and a title means you are waiting for him to retire.
