I’m a fan of both men and I’m also Italian which is why some people would say I’m bias but I’m also realistic and Rocky against George is the worst possible match up Rocky could ever have. George eats up that style.. Foreman by Ko
Worst possible matchup for Rocky. It's not possible for a short, swarming fireplug to beat Foreman, either incarnation. (Word to Cus')
Man, no one loves Marciano more than me, and even I say he has a tough time with this one. Then again, no one loves Foreman more than me. Basically it is very similar to the Frazier fight. "Down goes Marciano!"
Guys we have two two-handed powerpunchers and one has a notorious stamina problem while the other has what is likely the greatest power-punching stamina in the history of the division. I do not see this ending well for Foreman. Frazier was blind as a bat in one eye in the first match and in two eyes in the second match. I don't think this will be comparable, honestly. One hand, one eye instead of two hands, two eyes, plus the stamina? It's a lock for Marciano. KO7.
Foreman with 30+ pound natural weight advantage, nearly 5 inch height advantage, 10+ inch reach advantage beats Marciano like a drum. If Archie Moore at 188 pound is able to put Rocky to the canvas what would one or more of Foremans bombs do? If a 192 pound Ezzard Charles could cut Marciano heavily, the heavy fists of Foreman would do untold damage. With regard to Rockys disregard for the Marquess of Queensberry rules, me thinketh trying that against Mr George Edward Foreman would result in Mr Foreman responding with a lot of added interest.
I love both,m those guys are my favourite heavyweights. Rocky could throw more than 80 bombs in the 15th round of a match but i just can't see him holding up more than 5-6 rounds against Foreman. Foreman probably could easily manipulate him with his jab, push him around and knock him out in a few rounds.
Marciano retires rather than face Big George. Big George is all wrong for the Rock. The fight is effectively over within 2 rounds, but Rock keeps coming and keeps getting knocked back down until the ref stops it or the towel is thrown in.
Not only that. Foreman would be simply too big. Marciano today would be a SMW-LHW. There are guys at 168 much larger than he is. Marciano h2h at HW vs. the larger ones especially is a stupid discussion. He simply wouldn't do well on size alone. Far more interested in talking about fights against the likes of Beterbiev, Kovalev, Ward, Tarver, Hopkins etc. Just imagine Marciano vs. Beterbiev.... That's a true time machine battle for the ages right there.
Head to head, Marciano isn't even in the same discussion as prime Foreman. This is a brutal, brutal stoppage in the making.
Which he never ever said. We're led to believe that D'Mato trained Tyson to be the perfect fighting machine but he should just avoid someone who lost to Jimmy Young?
