Was going to mention this Joyce fight has 209k views on YouTube. BTs social numbers are second to none compared to Sky

@Dragon Punch Surprisingly i recall Frampton used to get the lowest audiences when on Sky. Surprising as he gets such a big support at his actual fights. Be interesting to see the figures for their bill.

Yeah when BT think some money will be in it for them they have a good social media presence and make really good content in comparison to Matchroom/Sky.

It's not the kids who circulate Hearn clips, its bots and cheeky nandos men.

But yeah Hearn is far more in touch with modern ways to sell fights than Warren, thats not going to change. BT do a good job at promoting fights when they want to.

Frank Warren mentioned the numbers on their YouTube channels.

How does this compare with actual viewing figures?

28k for the Mark Chamberlain fight seems fairly solid. Some mad ones like Dennis McCann having half a million etc

Sky Sports Mix is available to those with the Sky entertainment base pack so it would have a big reach.

As for BT, they will carry on with boxing so long as they have draws for PPV like Fury and further down the line Dubois.

Interesting to see what happens with the Whyte/Povetkin PPV this month as it is up against Mick’s card on Channel 5 and isn’t that appealing as a package.

I really don’t see Whyte/Povetkin doing well IMO. It’s not very often that I don’t press the PPV button, but there is no way I’m
paying for it and with COVID I don’t see the casuals getting roped in.

I remember someone finding something like 10 Twitter accounts which all tweeted the exact same phrase 'Just got back from X birthday party in time for the Conor Benn fight!!!"

Warren has put in zero effort , he has no fresh ideas and he doesn’t pay well so the quality of fighter he gets in his poor

Hearn has a genuine love for the sport and even though he loves a pound note more you could see the effort etc when talking about fight camp

Just a personal point of view of mine.

Friday night I caught the end of Franks show and my initial reaction was “ok its fight camp tomorrow”.

after Saturday nights show my reaction was “great, what’s the next fight camp show!”

Don’t get me wrong I’ve expressed my disappointment once I done a bit of research and discovered how **** the next two fight camps are but as a boxing fan the card, set up and whole package of fight camp captivated me in to wanting more. The Frank show just didn’t do that.

Warren doesn’t pay well comments are absolute nonsense...(and before the usual suspects pile on about late payments in the box nation days etc that’s not the point or relevant to what’s going on now).

He blew Eddie out of the water to sign a 350lb, depressed Fury.

He outbid Eddie to Sign Frampton when he left Baz McGuigan.

He offered up more dough to sign Warrington when he left Hearn initially.

Reading between the lines about the move back, it was more about Frank hitting a brick wall with the next move for him rather than Eddie outbidding Frank.

Dubois spoke to both promoters when he went Pro and after seeing Franks offer, Eddie told him to sign for Warren...

Frank used to pay Saunders well over his worth until he lost patience and finally let him go. There is no way that Eddie would pay him the same for one of his own bum mandatories that’s Warren got stuck with.

Eddie skilfully was able to invoice the YouTubers for his one and only appearance for Matchroom. The plan was than for Goldenboy to pay the bill for Canelo untill that went tits up.

I guarantee Eddie must be fuming to be stuck with this Saunders idiot and the prospect of having to pay him for WBO bum defences that Warren has to put up with.

As for love of the sport, if you cut Warren in half he will bleed boxing. You haven’t got to like him to understand that this old cnut has got through some horrendous situations to stay afloat and for many years until Eddie came along, he was basically single handily keeping the British scene alive.

I’m not knocking Eddie, but like his father did years before, if Boxing becomes to problematic and it starts to stifle his enjoyment, he will be off eventually.

They have been caught out a few times. To be fair it isn't just Matchroom but they certainly use such methods.

All of which is fine but when it comes to British boxing and the last ten years you can't deny it's been nearly all one-way traffic away from Frank.

If Warren's such a great promoter who wants to do so much good for boxing why have fighters left him in their droves? We all know the names; not that long ago Frank was promoting just about everyone in British boxing, and what happened. In a short space of time nearly everyone left him, Calzaghe, Hatton and Burns all took him to court, and the biggest names on the move or signing up didn't sign with him.

Why do you think this is if Frank is offering great deals and cares more about the sport than anyone? None of Bellew, Froch, Groves, Khan, Brook and so on ever seem to look back at their career and wonder why they left / didn't sign with Frank. I doubt Joshua is thinking about him. Even Fury, purportedly Frank's biggest name, had his biggest fights when he was promoted by Arum or Hennessy.

It’s common knowledge that Warren pays better money for his fighters and their opponents

Boxing works in cycles, one promoter will be on top for a prolonged period, then another will. If you look at the prospects Queensberry and MR have coming through, Frank has the better talent. They’ve been in a rebuilding period. Signing amateur after amateur and they will continue to do so, Warren and Queensbury are in it for the long run and won’t be going anywhere any time soon
