Having a belt doesn’t mean higher pay. Pay has always been about popularity. The more popular guy gets the larger slice regardless of belt. There isn’t a guy out there for Teo to fight where he can make 1.2 million. Loma does have other name he can fight for bigger pay.

This is one of the biggest problems hurting boxing. All these young fighters think they should be earning multiple millions for their first big fight, before they’ve proven themselves.

Loma should just move on from this fight. Too much drama from the Lopezs.

Exactly. He beats Lomachenko and becomes the unified champ, then he gets Lomachenko money for his next fight.

When a fighter or promoter use the term “marinate” it means we think we’d lose right now and is a clear duck

LMFAO the corona virus has zero to do with a purse split. The money is already there it's about how it's divided. Like it or not Lopez is worth a lot to Loma as there are no other big fights out there and he's already old.

Lopez either takes the offer or ducks the fight.

No one is siding with Lopez here.

Idk if you've ever participated in a negotiation but that is essentially the opposite of how it actually works

Why should Lopez take the first offer without countering?

I doubt he'll get a better offer but he can do as he pleases and we'll soon see how serious he is about taking this fight.

He's been saying how he can win this fight , then went not take it. You're never gonna get star money without marketing yourself into a star or the fast track is to beat or even just fight a star. 20 years ago young fighters were still actually hungry and they would do whatever it took to make a fight and prove they were the best. These "business" first boxers have took the sport out of boxing and has led to so many disappointing careers and dream fights not happening. Why not let these young men fight these big fights early on in their early or mid 20s and see what they're made of. They need to be held accountable.

You won't get a better offer unless you ask for one. That's the most basic rule of negotiation
