You and a lot of people on here clearly no **** all about cutting weight.

You can't drain 30-40lbs worth of water as a 175lb man that's insane and would harm you more than help you, and if you're not draining the water, you're not making weight you're just getting in shape.
    2 very different things.

Also I doubt Crawford is 175lbs healthy, I'm like 5-6" taller than that guy, we have pretty much the same body shape, and I'm coming in at a touch over 180 right now.

I must be a moron then pal because WW is and almost always has been a deeper and more talent filled division than LHW in my eyes.

We were talking about Junior Welterweight (when Crawford unified) vs. Light Heavyweight NOT Welterweight.

To me it's as simple as this:
The more competitors you have in any given weight determines the depth and quality of the division.

There has almost always been more active competitors at WW than LHW.

I know a lot of people will disagree with this, but it really is that black and white for me.

Except I proved otherwise in earlier posts. You should challenge them instead of liking the comments of someone I mopped the floor with.

I'm not talking about Welterweight in this thread. Made an error in my prior post sorry I'm still groggy. Talking 140 back when Crawford unified. Regardless I didn't care to argue over even that. Richmondpete moved the goal post during our argument about Beterbiev and his future prospects at 175 and possibly CW. I encourage you to go back and read my posts. There's literally no debate about 175 vs Welterweight(at least not on my end)

    You cool bro.

I'd still say it's not an open and shut case at 140vs175.

    I don't agree with RichmondPetes assesment of Beterbiev, he's a natural LHW/CW.

By listing other large Light Heavyweights who cut weight past and present. Some of whom Beterbiev has already fought. 168-175 is full of massive guys who cut a ton of weight. Are you going to pretend that Ramirez, Smith, Benavidez couldn't compete at CW? That's just naming Super Middleweights. Do you want me do go down the list of Light Heavyweights? The reality is the those weight classes are filled with guys who cut a significant amount of weight due to gap between SMW/Light Heavy and CW. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out

    Fair.

Oh and absolutely there's an argument for 140 to be heard today. Things have really heated up. The competitive triangle between Taylor/Prograis/Ramirez is fantastic.

This is where we are getting mixed up.

It's about the percentage of your total weight you are draining, so if you are 220lbs you should be able to cut 30-40lbs without too much of an issue, but cutting the same amount of weight when you weigh 175 is incredibly dangerous and not something that is often done.

Terence Crawfords in ring weight is probably around 160-165, cutting much more water than that would be dangerous and would not give you an advantage.

I'm not involved in that argument. Strictly talking Beterbiev in this thread. I only briefly talked about Crawford because Richmondpete said unifying LHW or CW would be about as impressive as Crawford unifying 140 - I completely disagree. I think Crawfords earlier lower weight campaigns were pretty extreme but that Welterweight is a good place for him.

And yeah. Usyk or Gassiev cutting to Light Heavyweight would be nuts. No way would that be possible today. With IVs and most extreme weight cutting PED being banned.
