the fight Hagler vs hearns has nothing to do with this fantasy fight. Benn hits much harder than Hagler and was naturally a bigger man, Benn could stop hearns with a single hard shot, and Benn did not have the chin of chuvalo but was no chinny guy, the guy could take a beating and then getting up and winning the fight. Benn had better durability than Hearns without a doubt and hits harder h2h too

Hearns could certainly stop Benn too. I'm not overly sure Benn hits harder. Hearns stopped plenty of people all the way to cruiser.

1988 Benn (as per the thread title) was inexperienced after feasting on a string of nobodies and not ready for the step as as we saw against Watson. Hearns was a bit fragile at this point as well but would have a real chance of beating Benn.

For me it's not really just about power, but about Benn's pressure, intensity, combination punching and ability to bob and weave. I don't think Hearns has the defense or inside game to pull off what Watson managed.

Ofcourse Hearns has his chances too, with his outboxing, jab and KO power

What makes people think Hearns wouldn't just 'Duran' him. Even that version of Duran was more skilled, equally tough (probably more tough, actually) and similar stylistically. Plus, Benn wasn't made of iron at 160. He was stopped by Watson and Eubank, dropped by Logan, dropped by DeWitt and even above 160, he was hurt by Galvano, Gent and of course McClellan.

It's a two way street as this stage for sure.

That's a very possible scenario. Hearns is a far better fighter than Benn.

Benn was out cold in the first round v McClellan but was saved by the ref and a long count because he fell out of the ring, G-man struggled to land clean for the rest of the fight, Hearns was a more accurate able to knock Benitez down at 154 who was far harder to hit than Benn was.

You're actually allowed 20 seconds when you fall out the ring

Hearns had a devastating hook to the body at that range and landed well on Hagler in the first round of that bout that was fought in a phone booth, a round that Hearns clearly won until getting hurt at the end of that round, Benn would have been destroyed by Hagler at that range in the same fight if you trade Benn for Hearns on that day.

Yes, I meant it was longer than 10 meaning he was saved by falling out of the ring because he was out cold on the ropes just before that and the ref stepped between the two men for no reason stopping G-man from finishing Benn.

Hagler was more muscled than Benn at 160 what do you mean stronger? which of them had bigger biceps?

Benn was gassed but it was still green Benn and while Benn was gassed after 6 it doesn't mena that he would be againstHearns since that fight would not see 6th round!
Benn would knocked Hearns earlier than that!
Hearns never hurt Hagler! He just hurt his hand trying to knock out Hagler which is unpossible!

He hurt Hagler badly in the opening seconds of their clash, even the commentators mentioned it.
