This is the problem trying to retain information about all of the divisions, it's a constant cycle of refreshing what you already know which is why every couple of years I get bored and drop off from the forum.

Johnson, Eddie, Qawi, Sears, Holmes, Cooney, Tyson.

No I never found Johnson that entertaining, his punches were too soft for me and his defence just isn't pretty. But I do think he was effective. I've scored them all years ago but I don't know where my cards are. I probably won't get far before jacking it in.

Well, I'm autistic, I tend to keep everything that goes in here. Like, nothing leaves. I can tell you an entire conversation I had with a social worker when I was five.

No Lopez? I love that fight. And which Johnson, Pops or Vonzell? I'd be quite interested to see your score for the Eddie Davis fight. Highly controversial. I had it 115-113 Davis, although more people had it 8-4 in the FOTF.

Yeah, Glen was alright. I like the guy, and thought he's somewhat underrated, but there are definitely more entertaining light-heavyweights.

I had a near photographic memory when I was younger but its definitely faded over time. But more than that I go through phases with boxing and when I'm really enjoying it watch loads of fights, even those I've seen before to keep my minds eye fresh. But between being a teacher, being married and having kids it's not easy fitting fights in all the time.

But sometimes the thought of sitting there for 45 minutes is just off putting so I leave it for a few months.

    Pops.

I'll post a rbr when I get up to it.

Well I got kicked out twice, so I kinda just blamed the teachers. But don't worry, it was an English teacher who actually had me kicked out of my second school, and it were math's teachers in both of my first two schools it was math's teachers who tried to let me stay.

    So you're alright. For now.

    Michael Spinks vs Marvin Johnson

First round sees Johnson all over Spinks, not giving him any space, and trying to maul his way to victory. Spinks is trying to create angles to fire off his crisp combinations but aside from a flurry in the last ten seconds he doesn't have much luck.

Round 2 Spinks tries to establish his jab by throwing every time Johnson ducks down. But instead of knocking Johnson off balance, he just marches through it pinning Spinks time and time again. Spinks doesn't look vulnerable or in any danger, he seems content landing the jab and boxing off the ropes, he lands some big shots towards the end of the round but I think I have it 2-0 to Johnson at this stage.

Johnson lands a solid shot at the start of round 3 and Spinks does look a bit troubled now for the first time. He isn't given any room to work, Johnson is throwing none stop and Johnson seeks to be able to take the power of Spinks when he lands off the ropes. For the last 30 seconds of the round Spinks seems to now have his timing jabbing off the back foot and catching Johnson when he over reaches.

Round 4 the two are going to war in a phone booth. Spinks off the ropes, Johnson keeping him there. As they spin off the ropes Spinks lands a huge body shot that slows Johnson right down and gives Spinks the opportunity he needs. He lands a huge left hook right on the button and cleans the clock of Marvin.

    Ah that's not ideal.

    But yeah I'm alright, mostly.

I assume you got a message explaining about the situation from the other day BTW.

Michael Spinks vs Eddie Mustafa Muhammad.

Round 1 is pretty much a feeling out round. Not a whole lot happens, but Eddie is slightly more active and slightly better defensively. He shades the first round on my card.

Round 2 has a but more activity to Eddie is slightly more aggressive and does the better work. He shades it again for me.

Round 3 is more of the same. Spinks not doing an awful lot, Eddie out working and out landing him. 3-0 Eddie.

Round 4 sees Spinks open up a bit more but for me the better and more consistent work is still coming from Eddie who's beginning to run away with it now.

Round 5 Spinks has a decent start but Eddie comes right back into it landing big shots and perhaps even hurting Spinks at one point. Big round for Eddie this. 5-0

Round 6 Spinks has his moments towards the end of the round but again the most part of the round sees Eddie making Spinks miss the right and outworking him to the body and out jabbing him. 6-0

Round 7 for me is more of the same. Eddie doing the better more consistent work, getting through with big shots, making Spinks miss with the right. 7-0

Round 8 Spinks comes outike a man possessed. He pops out the jab and really gets it going for once. He knocks Mustafa back and stuns him with a huge shot, I think it was an uppercut. Spinks needed a big round, and here it is. 7-1 the comeback is on.

Round 9 during the minute break Eddie's right eye has closed shut, I bet now he's wishing he didn't lose so much weight for this fight. Spinks can't miss with that jab now and all of a sudden the momentum is well and truly with the challenger. 7-2

Round 10 Eddie has really dropped off his offence and his defence is no longer what it was at the start of the fight. Eddie looks tired and Spinks looks like he's in round 1. From nowhere Eddie lands a huge flurry at the end of the round but it isn't enough to take it in my card.

Round 11 is a lot closer as Spinks slows down his offence and seems to take the round off. There isn't a whole lot in it but I think Spinks just about nicked it. 7-4

Round 12. Massive 3 punch combination by Spinks drops Eddie. Double left hook followed by a huge right. Eddie drops very heavily but gets to his feet and survives the onslaught. 7-5

Round 13-15 see Spinks closing out the show. Eddie is exhausted and has nothing left to give.

    143-141 Spinks

    Spinks vs Davis

First 4 rounds I have to Davis. I forgot how much of a slow starter Spinks is. Frazier has a reputation for starting slow but Spinks is next level. He just kinda exists in the early rounds.

I then gave the next 3 to Spinks, once he gets that jab going and his superb footwork he's such an offensive force of nature.

I then gave 8 and 9 to Davis who came back into the fight.

Before giving the final 3 to Spinks who again shows his ability to muster up a 2nd wind in the championship rounds.

    114-114 draw.

Rounds 2,4 and 12 could have gone the other way so I can see all 3 outcomes tbh.

As an aside, is Spinks the slowest starter in ATG history?

    Spinks vs Sears

Fight starts off with Sears really pressing the action and Spinks doing what he does best, which is apparently just wait.

Then put of nowhere Spinks puts Sears over with a huge right hand, and stops him in the follow up.

Anyone else envision Spinks lose every second of a fight with Jones Jr until he lands a ko shot from the blue?

Nah, not really. I can see Spinks winning by decision.

Jones was a freak of nature, but he wasn't unhittable. I never got this hyperbole around him. He's fast, he's slick, he's ****ing insane! But he wasn't unhittable. Spinks catches him, clean and he goes down and stays down.

Jones' hand speed, unorthodox rhythm and sharp-shots should let him be up on points, but he'd have to work around Spinks' jab and avoid his power, and I don't think he can do both.

Spinks KO or Spinks decision, depending on what Jones does.

Spinks tends to lose a lot of rounds until he lands a power shot.

So the only way I see him beating Jones on points is if Jones goes into survival mode after being dropped and Spinks accepts the silent agreement.
