Joe Smith Jr. is without a doubt the hardest puncher in boxing here is why

Yeah of course. Beterbiev has great technique I said that in my post. But I don't think most guys would have been able to pull off a KO with that kind of space technique aside. I'll check it again later but Beterbiev definitely didn't have a lot of room and while set wasn't in the best place to land that punch. That was just as much insane power as it was technique.

 

Oh no denying his power. That was just not the situation where his insane power shined.
I think even with bad technique Beterbiev would have at worst put Johnson down.

 

Wait so Inoue’s not a big puncher cause he couldn’t ko an experienced vet in his third weight class.

I like watching Joe Smith fight, too. But Wilder is a ridiculously harder puncher. And he doesn't need much room. In their first fight, Wilder finished Ortiz with a right uppercut that dropped him face first. And, in the return, he dropped Ortiz with a straight right that traveled about 12 inches.

The only man Wilder hasn't stopped in his career outweighed him by 40 pounds in both fights. There have been any number of 175-pounders (EIGHT to be exact) Smith couldn't stop.

 

I dislike Wilder just as much as most on here but you're spot on. Wilder's lack of technique and grasp of things like balance have stopped him in becoming a more dangerous puncher. For his size and frame he punches way above average - if he was better balanced and more technical he would be snatching souls in the ring.


Joe is a dangerous puncher and certainly one of the harder punchers in the sport though. Joe does have his flaws and is a fairly limited boxer.
