One of the middleweight devisions best swarmers against one of its best punchers. Who takes it?

I haven't seen that much from Valdes to be fair, was he good enough to brawl with someone as good as Mickey Walker?

He was very, very good. Good enough to be Monzon's best win in the opinion of most. Me included.

Valdez was a consummate counter puncher with a huge punch, a good chin, excellent gas tank and, here, a clear stylistical advantage. He didn't really accomplish much, as he didn't fight too many elites. Which is strange given that his trainer was Gil Clancy, and he matched his prize pupil, Emile Griffith, very aggressively. Although the Briscoe trilogy is a good indicator of how good he was. He was a clear level above Bennie, and it showed. He also showed that he was excellent on the front foot vs Monzon, but his M.O. was as a counter puncher. He either destroyed or picked apart all who stood in front of him. But Corro showed that he was very beatable if you basically ran all night.

I think he's in with a good shot here. In fact, I think he'd win it as Walker was the type of fighter he absolutely pieced in his prime.
