Today I was watching the Mayweather-Pazienza fight, where he rushed Mayweather after the fight ended. I remember too how furious he got when Holmes accidentally elbowed Holyfield and Duva was screaming it was a headbutt. I recall a few more incidents of this nature.
He was jumping up and down when Julio Caesar Chavez knocked out Meldrick Taylor on March 17 1990. He was a nuisance.
Any trainer would have been going nuts if that was their fighter his man put his life on the line and made it to the final Bell on his feet and they took the whole effort away from him
I think if I was going to fight one of Duva's fighters, I think I would bring Tyson or McCall to more corner to watch him.

Old Lou had a short fuse but knew his boxing. Do you remember my good friend in Ft Worth Texas Gene Mad Dog Hatcher coming in as a substitute against againstWW champ Johnny Bumphus ?? Gene's " Left Hook from Heaven" separated Bumphus from his senses & Gene was the new Welterweight Champ. Lou went ape **** crazy We all Cheered the New Champ. Great guy Gene
I agree with you but his fighter should have gotten the job done earlier like Chavez did at the end if he was that great. Taylor did suffer an enormous amount of injury to his face, broken bones, he also suffered a Concussion. I am not qualified to judge a bout, Taylor was ahead but what counts is getting the job done.
It always seemed to me like George Benton was the real brains of the outfit....Duva was just a big talker
