The thing is, I'd much rather pay say £6.99 and watch a card like we had tonight then pay £19.95 for the card next week.

The main event isn't even for a title.

If these complaining gentlemen are opposed to free-market economics as a matter of principle, then they should say so.

Boxing is an entertainment business, and like any other form of business, ventures have to make sense financially.

So if the Matchroom accountants are projecting they can make money on a Whyte/Povetkin PPV, how is that controversial? If they don't make money, poor, old Dillian won't get top billing anymore.

    You tell them Mr PM

The hammers in the East will be facing the M25 East area and will be loudly singing their song next Saturday evening

    Adam Smith likes blowing bubbles
    Pretty bubbles and hot air
    The buys go so high
He reaches out, touches Anna's pie

    Fortunes always coming
    Mugths from everywhere
£20 for a fake presser stare
    Its simply not fooking fair

    Hearn is always lying
    Claiming his boxthing is good
They want your £20 next week
For a double helping of pud

I won’t be buying the steaming pile of dog sh...

I like Hearn, find him refreshing, and talks a half decent game.

But to charge for this steaming pile of crap, and text his mates to comment on it saying they can’t wait, just sucks more people in.

All the WBC nonsense has just added an extra 20k buys. If 200k people buy this (which is low for a Whyte fight) he takes a cool 4 million quid off random mugs.

Chuck in sponsors, and all the other nonsense, this fight probably takes around 6 million quid if not more.

Don't know why we're even discussing a fight that's very unlikely to happen. Such is the bad blood between these two titans of the sport, is there really any chance they can be kept apart long enough to make it to the first bell? I'm expecting reports of a 10 megaton explosion in Brentwood any moment now.

How embarrassing was that though? Povetkin, an unassuming, reticent, respectful character having the potential to roll around an hotel floor with Dillian Whyte. Laughable.

Lmfao. Whyte was a self-proclaimed street thug prior to professional boxing. He has said repeatedly that he is fine with fighting in a parking lot for free but we’re supposed to thank him for fighting at the bargain price of £20.

If the Whyte that turned up for the Wach fight fought this version of Povetkin, he will be in for a tough night, but I honestly think this won’t see 6 rounds. Povetkin is an old man who looked tired and long past his best against Hunter. That said, Hunter moves and boxes better than Whyte so maybe I’m being too harsh on old man Pov.

Shame Nurological and Jurgs have copped bans on fight week.

Joshua - Povetkin was two years ago and that's the only thing that makes me go heavily in favour of Whyte here. I always think back to how Povetkin stuck it on Joshua early. IF he can do that to Whyte he could have some success and might even score a KD but that was two years ago now.

The question marks come from the lack of Tibbs in the training camp and corner but Whyte showed against Chisora in the rematch that he knows how to pace himself.

I see it as a 65-35 fight in Whyte's favour seeing as it's in Hearn's backyard and Povetkin will never get a decision. Despite Povetkin's age if Whyte can knock him out it will be a massive statement.
