That’s your argument??? Just because he wasn’t in any exciting fights doesn’t mean he isn’t a great, if he’s beating everyone and has superb skills then it would just be stupid for him to go to war

 

Yea but everyone he's beating isn't close to him skill wise again he's undoubtedly one of the best boxers of all time I just don't think you can be called Great until ur really tested

Floyd was a fabulous fighter, but no, he's not the greatest.

 

Great Fighter,even greater human Bean,positively influenced his surroundings,beat McGregor,the greatest,definitely.

 

Like giving **** for Pernell for never going to war.

He has a good claim, but IMO no.
Greatness is about more than just being the best.

But he's definitely top 10 all time.

 

He was tested, he just happened to be better than anyone.

 

I know and that's not his fault. the juda and midona fights showed how high of a ring iq he haze and how he can make changes mid fight hes undoubtedly one of the best of all time. I just don't think hes great it's just a opinion thing I think you can't be regarded as the best of all time until you fight some in your class(again it's not his fault no one was as good as him)

 

Floyd's boxing ability is better than Ali's. Floyd is one of the best boxers skill wise ever, yes for sure. But boxing is about more than skill, more than ability. It's about character.

Was career better than Ali's? maybe. Was his mentality better than Ali's? No. What his character better than Ali's? No. Is his fighting spirit better than Ali's? No Ali's fighting spirit is on the highest level.

The GOAT will always be Ali because he proclaimed that status for himself, then Floyd tried a dollar store rip off version "The Best Ever" which was laughable and corny.

The best fighting man to ever live is Tyson Fury and he's just started his reign.

Ali with early onset parkinsons MENTALLY wanted and thought he could take on Holmes. He is a different breed of fighter to Floyd. Floyd never had that kind of confidence, maybe Floyd was even more grounded in the realities and hard truths of boxing, it's a hard game that doesn't wait for anyone.


What are Floyds two stand out wins? What fights made you go "Wow" what a Fighter. What a mentality. What a spirit. What heart.

Overcoming adversity to win does more for a fighter than beating guys you're supposed to beat with a heavy A-side advantage.

That's a fair point but I still think you need to really be tested against someone of or near your level to be great

Ali is the GOAT(Greatest of all time) while Floyd is TBE (The Best of his Era or maybe The Best Ever) and Sugar Ray Robinson (Pound for pound best).
