Great news imo... Set up by the fuzz an wasted almost 20 years in poky ....Hope he gets a ppv against the winner of RJJ an Tyson
Aye i am happy for him also, just amazed he got licenced but more importantly just hope nothing bad happens to him at his age and level of inactivity.
Nunn was a cutie, who spent the final ten of years of his career going backwards, figuratively and to a degree, literally. Perhaps the rest will have refreshed him?!
I didn’t realise he had been sent to prison and for that long !! Just reading it now says he bought a kilo of cocaine off an undercover cop , the article says for $200 , surely a miss print ha!! They don’t mess about with prison sentences in the States do they !! He was actually sentenced to 24 years! Over her probably would of got six!
I was a bit of a fan back in the day, Nunn was a very good fighter, often overlooked when talking about that era, a little like Mike McCallum. People seem mention RJJ, Toney, Hopkins and even the likes of Donald Curry and Iran Barkley before they even think of Michael Nunn. Anyway, I hope he earns a few dollars somehow and enjoys his life, I hope he earns it away from boxing though, maybe a book, film or doing some work educating young kids and warning of the dangers they face if they get involved with drugs. I personally have no desire to see an old looking, jail worn, 57 year old Michael Nunn fight. Anyway he made a huge mistake, a very serious one and paid a very heavy price, so he has paid his debt and I wish him well.
I think its a fair decision based on that win over miletich which was no joke. Looks like hes going the sensible long term foreman mk2 route but 57 is pushing it...in this day and age 50-51 u may get away with im sorry i think 57 is just too late.but he deserves the chance to prove otherwise. The sentence was a travesty.in the uk hed do 3 years inside max for that
Lads! If you haven't seen it, treat yourself to watching Michael Nunn in his absolute pomp against Frank Tate. One of the greatest boxing displays you will ever see!
Well he shouldn't have gotten himself in trouble in first don't worry he's no threat and father time is undefeated.
