As Mr. Thomas said, he was only good on the inside when his opponents allowed him to be. But as I said above, when he was in a clinch he did absolutely nothing to even try get out of it. He'd just wait for the ref to separate them then start all over. Liston for example (which he never gets credit for) used to put his head down and dig to the body when in clinches until his opponent was forced to let him go. This is a trait very rarely seen among fighters, heavyweights in particular.

Yeah. Tyson could weight similar to george in some fights but their frames were different, Foreman was a guy that even drained looked pretty big and it is because his frame was big,his body was ready to carry much more weight.

Tyson was packed of muscle and this muscle was added because he was a short guy in an era where the hws were getting taller and heavier and the weight training was booming.

Tyson naturally was not any bigger than Frazier.. He could have fought at 210 perfectly, Foreman at 18/19 weighed 226-230 pounds as amateur and he did not touch a weight

Legend has it Tysom was already bench pressing 245 lbs at 13 years old. If that is true its scary to think what the other 13 year olds would other than run, make payments to him.

IDK it could be true judging by some of the pictures. If there was ever a 13 year old that strong it was Tyson.

At 16 Tyson had no problem manhandling good size professional heavyweights like Jimmy Clark. 16 and 13 is a big difference though.

Foreman was huge at whatever he came in at. Foreman was immensely stronger than Tyson. At 220 he may as well have been 250+ such was his force and stability.

Tyson may have been a little quicker and stronger pound per pound. However, Duran's greatest attribute was ring sense:

“Ring sense is an art, a gift from God that flows out of a fighter like a great painting flows out of an artist, or a great book flows out of an author,” the hall of fame trainer Ray Arcel once said. “Ring sense is a natural ability to cope with any situation in a fight. It cannot be taught.”

I've been trying to get that point across that just because a fighter knocks someone else out in round 14 or whatever doesn't prove anything necessarily. If you're a slow starter, you're probably going to win by a late knockout. Nobody ever calls LaMotta or Saad or Frazier light hitters. They weren't. They just came on slow and so they often knocked people out late.

Or criticizing someone for going the distance with certain fighters. @choklab once laughably said he'd pick anybody that knocked out Daniels to beat Williams  lol what a clown. Wonders why nobody takes him seriously.

Care to explain when I said that exactly? Sounds like one of your exaggerations again.

LaMotta was a light hitter, he didn`t even punch as hard as Duran did at 160.

He didn`t seem that strong at the start of his pro career, he didn`t look stronger than Tyson in his 28th fight v Peralta.

LaMotta was certainly no bomber like Duran or Saad or Frazier, but no one who fought LaMotta ever said he was a light hitter.
