Ruiz, went on to beat Holyfield, Rhaman, Golota, Kirk Johnson...some good names, so if Lewis blows Ruiz out early it could rate as a top five win.

    Lennox Lewis

    1----Vitali Klitschko
    2----Evander Holyfield
    3----Hasim Rahman
    4----David Tua
    5----Ray Mercer

Not making cut: Mike Tyson--too far gone.

Yes, but I don't think he would fight them without the title

    2. Vitally Klitschko
    3. Donovan Ruddock
    4. Hasim Ramhan
    5. Andrew Golota

Perhaps I am seeing it differently to others.

    Lennox Lewis’ 5 best wins

1 Klitschko - One of the best heavies of his era near his peak
2 Holyfield - Past his best, still an elite heavyweight. Had a couple of his biggest wins entering the fight and would keep beating top heavyweights for almost another decade
3 Tua - Long time contender with a number of good wins to his credit
4 Ruddock - I can see moving him up a spot or down several
5 Mercer - Good heavyweight who could be inconsistent. Was on for this fight.

A lot of available guys who could crack the top 5. A 6-10 list would look something like this:

    6 Rahman
    7 Golota
    8 Morrison
    9 Grant
    10 Akinwande

That would still leave guys like Bruno, Tucker ,Briggs, McCall, and an old Tyson. Great depth on his resume

On Tua he could not box a lick. It was an easy night for Lewis. Tua seemed to opt out of what he needed to do to win.

One guy not mentioned so far was Marovic, who gave a prime Lennox Lewis a tough fight. The trouble is Marovic had to retire after the Lewis fight at age 29 due to a medical condition. Had he fought on and won some, perhaps he would have been a top 5 win.

It’s not that impressive of top 5 imo.

His first two wins are very good. But 3 to 5 spots Tua, Rudduck and Golota are not that good compared to a lot of top 5 lists.

I don’t think it’s an impressive top 5 compared to a lot of the top 5 on this thread.

Its a pity Marovic had to retire so young. Agreed that he could have been top 5.

I felt all three were fairly prime for the fights with Lewis. Rahman, Tyson, Mason, Grant, McCall, Mercer, Bruno etc could all be there too. In some ways, my top two picks were not his more impressive wins, just the most historically significant.

This was a fine showing on Lewis's part, but I don't see it as one of Lewis's best performances.

Tua was not exactly a standout among Lewis's opponents, and he beat equal men in a more dominant manner.

You could find a top ten for Lewis, that didn't have anybody that implied weakness in his resume!
