I don't know, but Lopez definitely tried to price himself out of the fight until he couldn't do it anymore without losing face, because Lomachenko reduced his own purse.
a sound decision considering lomachenko and lopez are unknown even amongst casuals. by putting it on regular espn both get relatively high visibility compared to a ppv that was bound to do poor numbers and probably lose money.
Yeah lmao. The guy asked for more, got more and made the fight. Hilarious that someone's trying to spin it any other way
I will never hate on someone for maximizing their earning potential. But if this fight did not happen, and the reason why it didn't happen was due to Teo turning it down over money, you would be supportive?
I wouldn't be supportive of either fighter if this fight did not get made because neither was willing to concede. Had Loma made a small concession and Lopez stood totally firm then I would blame Lopez. Had Loma refused to concede at all and passed up the biggest payday of his career over the split i would blame loma
"What I’m most proud of is it’s clearly the best fight since the pandemic started. It would’ve been a major fight even without the pandemic, and now it’s being shown to the public without an extra charge. Nobody has to pay 5 cents to watch it. You don’t even have to be subscribed for $4.99 a month to watch it on ESPN+. If they’re a cable subscriber or a satellite subscriber, they get it for nothing.”
