    Pure bull**** were a country that produced "sports stars" like Roy Keane, Steve Collins, Connor MacGregor and Barry mcguigan. Just the mirror doing what the mirror does best lie and appel to idiots

    Her opponents aren`t at the same level of Frampton`s or any other male Irish world champ and Roy Keane was an amazing soccer player.

    If you class the whole of Ireland then theres a fella whose been dead 15 years who is still a 1000 times more known than Taylor.

    No, he wasn't. If you're referring to the 2002 World Cup, an event Republic of Ireland would never have reached if Roy Keane didn't rag doll them to the finals, then you're either biased, ignorant or both.

    There's also George Best, who hailed from Northern Ireland. You have to laugh at Katie Taylor being compared to the likes of Roy Keane and George Best.

    Although I'm against horse racing, there's also AP McCoy who won just about everything (and probably several times, I'm not sure), Alex Higgins the iconic two-time world snooker champion, Dennis Taylor the former world snooker champion, Stephen Roche who won the Tour de France in the 80's. There are major winners in golf. There are probably more in sports like Rugby with which I don't have a clue.

    In boxing is she more heralded than Steve Collins and Barry McGuigan? Come on. A full-time police officer practically beat the brakes off her.

    I wouldn't even say she's their greatest female sportsperson with Michelle Smith having won numerous gold medals in Atlanta.
