Even if he isn't the GOAT, he's one of the best fighters of his generation and a first ballot HOFer, without a doubt.

 

I don't admit anything cause I don't know if he did or not. My point is plenty have used PEDs in combat sports and probably use them, and if Mayweather uses, he ain't the only one.
You seem to think I'm a Mayweather fan, I'm not, not by any means. I ****ing hate his style and I don't like him as a person, but that doesn't stop me from appreciating how great of a boxer he is and how good he was at winning matches.
My favorite boxers are brawlers and people who trade punches, I ****ing hate out-boxers.
I'm the biggest Tyson fan. I love Hagler, Liston.
But I repeat, that doesn't stop me from understanding and appreciating the skill many defensive boxers and out-boxers have.

Judging by your criteria in determining greatness, Ali is nowhere near the GOAT.

You said Mayweather got the judges in Vegas on his side. Well, he only has 1 match that was disputable, while Ali benefited from far more gift decisions. Any fighter who was in very good condition, could punch with some authority, and could fight well on the inside, had great chance to beat Ali, mainly because Ali usually moved backwards and did not have explosive power. Jones, Frazier, Norton, Holmes, Spinks, all defeated him and some were robbed of additional victories. And then there was Henry Cooper, who may have had a KO were it not for a glove “problem”. Ali’s mouth puts him in the top ten of fighters, not his boxing ability.
On the other hand, Mayweather has never lost.

You said Mayweather did not treat his women right. Well, Ali did worse. Ali was an open misogynist in word and deed. Ali defended Elijah Muhammad even after Malcolm X told him that Elijah had multiple extramarital affairs (including statutory **** with underage girls) and fathered as many as 13 children with these women and girls.

All this despite that fact that Frazier publicly supported Ali’s conscientious objector status and -- get this -- helped his rival financially during the exile.

 

Ali also essentially harassed Liston until he agreed to a fight.

SRR is the GOAT as far as me, pro boxers, coaches, promoters, boxing writers and 95% of knowledgeable fans are concerned.

After that there's actually a bit of a gap, so dominant and superior in every facet of the sport was he and he took on everybody, often multiple times and in most instances won easily and on top of all that, his skill set would be right at home in any era.

He was banned for nearly 2 years by the Keystone Kops Err sorry the CSAC. He wasnt even allowed to train all that time The only fight he LEGITIMATELY lost since then was to Pac where his eye got permanently damaged. Cotto couldnt even beat a one eyed Margarito he had to rely on that crooked doc to stop the fight to save Cotto Quitting AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
